JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: YouTube Thumbnail Specialist
Location: Remote (Philippines)
Job Type: Part-time to start, with potential for ongoing long-term work

About the role

I am looking for an experienced YouTube Thumbnail Specialist to help create high-converting thumbnails for my YouTube channel.

This is not a beginner role. I am looking for someone who understands that thumbnails are one of the biggest drivers of click-through rate and video performance.

I need someone who knows how to create thumbnails that:

stand out
create curiosity
communicate clearly at a glance
make the viewer want to click

I am not looking for someone who just adds random effects, relies on generic AI designs, or creates thumbnails that “look cool” but do not perform.

I want someone who understands what makes a thumbnail convert.

What I need
Create YouTube thumbnails designed to improve click-through rate
Use strong visual hierarchy, contrast, lighting, emotion, and composition
Make thumbnails pop without looking messy or overdone
Understand how colors, text, facial expressions, framing, and object emphasis affect performance
Design thumbnails that pair well with titles and create curiosity
Be open to feedback, testing, and revisions
Follow a clear brand direction while still creating thumbnails that get attention
Important

I have studied YouTube strategy and I understand that small changes in thumbnails can lead to major differences in click-through rate and views.

Because of that, I am specifically looking for someone with real experience creating YouTube thumbnails that are meant to perform, not just general social media graphics.

Responsibilities:
Create custom thumbnails for YouTube videos
Design thumbnails based on video topic, title, and strategy
Select or enhance the best facial expressions, poses, objects, and focal points
Improve lighting, clarity, contrast, and overall visual impact
Help make thumbnails more clickable while staying clean and professional
Create different thumbnail options when needed
Participate in testing different styles or concepts
Organize files properly and deliver final work on time

Required skills:
Proven experience creating YouTube thumbnails
Strong understanding of click-through rate strategy

Strong design skills for thumbnails, including:
contrast
color use
lighting
composition
emphasis
readability
curiosity

Ability to make thumbnails stand out on mobile
Ability to follow references and brand direction
Good English comprehension
Strong communication and reliability

Nice to have:
Experience working with YouTube creators or brands
Experience with A/B thumbnail testing
Understanding of how titles and thumbnails work together
Experience with talking-head, educational, or real estate content

What I do NOT want:

Please do not apply if:

you are brand new to thumbnail design
you mainly create general social media graphics, flyers, or posters
you rely heavily on generic AI-generated designs
you do not understand how thumbnails affect CTR
you cannot explain why a thumbnail is likely to get clicked
Tools

Please let me know what design tools you use most often, such as Photoshop, Canva, Photopea, or other design software.

To apply, send:
A short introduction
Your experience creating YouTube thumbnails
5 to 10 thumbnail examples you created
A short explanation of what made those thumbnails clickable
Whether you have experience with A/B testing
Your turnaround time

Put the word "Beacon" in your subject line so I know you read the full post
