SENIOR BACK END DEV (PHP)

Job Description:

We're looking for a talented Back End Developer (PHP) join our agile development team in our office at 19th Flr. Avenir, Archbishop Reyes Ave, Cebu City. It will be your responsibility, to write usable, scalable and object oriented backend APIs to support our web and mobile applications. As the PHP team lead of a powerful web application servicing thousands of mobile apps globally.

You will rely on your significant experience in the development and deployment of large-scale PHP-based web applications to drive technical innovation of the company’s products and services. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives on new challenges, possesses a strong web backend development background, and has the ability to work in a start-up environment.

Lead and manage a large and expanding backend global product, promoting the creation of elegant, practical solutions to meet the business goal.
Analyze product requirements and specifications to create and implement backend designs and features
Provide accurate effort-estimates for deliverables and be committed to the deadlines through follow up of tasks
Research and actively learn about new technologies and introduce them into the infrastructure for enhancement of application framework and modularity
Work closely with the Senior Mobile Developer and Senior Front End Developer to assist in the analysis, evaluation and recommendation of new features and technology appropriate to the product
Responsible for managing and improving release process including but not limited to automation of release, testing components and monitor all major components and minor updates part of every release.
Motivate and grow a team through continuous evaluation of the development processes used by the team and pushing for improvements.
Provide technical mentorship to the other software engineers
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
At least 4 year experience in software development with solid hands-on experience in web programming
Very good knowledge of PHP7 and previous versions
Experienced in working with Yii framework
Proficiency in programming with Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 and using technologies such as jQuery and AJAX
Expert knowledge on technologies such as OAuth2, AWS, MySQL and MongoDB
Knowledge on following concepts and technologies are preferred
-object-oriented programming patterns(MVC)
-RESTFul API, data structures and algorithms
-high-availability and high-scalability web applications
-version control systems, preferably GIT
-popular APIs such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, etc.
Comfortable with using Linux operating systems, being able to configure webserver (apache/linux) on LINUX and basics of programming in BASH
Other Technologies: Apache/Nginx, Web Services, TCP/IP, SVN
Agile development process experience; including unit testing, story creation, continuous integration, and close collaboration with product management and quality assurance
Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
Commendable problem solving skill and can work under pressure

Other desirable personal qualities and skills:
Higly creative, resourceful and has an apptitude to work in a startup environment
Overseas education and/or working experience is a BIG plus
Benefits:
40,000 - 70,000 per month
Mondays to Fridays and Day-Shift Only, 40hrs 8am - 5pm(lunch 12noon-1pm)
