JOB OVERVIEW

Our client is looking for a Software Developer with strong programming fundamentals and experience working with existing or legacy systems. This role focuses on supporting and maintaining a proprietary platform, as well as contributing to ongoing system improvements and web-based functionality. The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer who can quickly understand complex codebases, troubleshoot effectively, and is open to being trained on internal systems and workflows.

This position requires someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a structured environment while still applying independent problem-solving. The role follows New York time (US EST) and requires close collaboration with the client’s team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, support, and enhance a proprietary (legacy) system
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues
- Work on system improvements and web-related functionalities
- Ensure code stability, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with the team on updates, fixes, and enhancements
- Learn and adapt to internal tools, systems, and development processes

Qualifications:
-Strong experience as a Software Developer (mid to senior level)
- Solid programming and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with legacy systems or maintaining existing codebases
- Ability to understand and navigate complex systems
- Willingness to learn proprietary technologies and workflows
- Strong communication and ability to work independently
- Willing to work from Mondays to Fridays, US EST (New York time) - **NON NEGOTIABLE**

Screening Questions:
1. Describe your experience working with legacy systems or large existing codebases. How do you approach understanding and improving them?
2. What programming languages and technologies are you most experienced in, and how have you applied them in real projects?
3. This role requires working US EST hours and learning a proprietary system. Are you comfortable with both, and how do you typically adapt to unfamiliar systems?

Salary: Client is willing to pay $15 - $20 per hour
