ABOUT THE ROLE

We're a growing web and digital marketing agency looking for a talented WordPress Designer to join our small, remote team. You'll be the go-to creative on the team — designing website layouts, creating visual assets for ad campaigns and email campaigns, and collaborating with developers and strategists to bring client brands to life online.

This is not a pure "make it pixel-perfect in Figma and hand it off" role. You'll work with a team, use tools like Canva and Photoshop, and increasingly leverage AI-powered design tools to move fast and produce great work. We're looking for someone with a strong eye for design who is also resourceful, adaptable, and excited to learn new tools as they emerge.

This is a part-time role with the opportunity to grow into full-time for the right person. We're looking for a dedicated tea ---------- mber who enjoys collaborating, loves to learn, thrives on problem solving, and wants a long-term role with real opportunity for growth.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENT
You must have some overlap with US business hours (Eastern Time Zone) for collaboration, task handoffs, and time-sensitive updates. We're flexible on the exact window — what matters is that you're reachable and responsive during a consistent block of time that works for both sides.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Website Design & Layout
- Design and build visually polished pages in WordPress using Kadence Blocks, with strong attention to balance, spacing, typography, and color
- Create homepage layouts, landing pages, service pages, and other key pages that look professional and convert
- Translate client branding (logos, colors, fonts) into cohesive website designs
- Deliver clean, on-brief results with minimal revisions


Visual Asset Creation
- Design graphics, banners, social media images, and other visual assets using Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools
- Create and update website imagery — hero images, icons, section graphics, before/after visuals, etc.
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual touchpoints for each client

AI-Assisted Design & Rapid Prototyping
- Use AI design tools like ---------- v, Nano Banana, and others to accelerate the design process
- Stay current on emerging AI tools and proactively bring new ideas to the team
- Know when to use AI tools vs. traditional design methods to get the best result


Collaboration with Deer Designer & Tea ---------- mbers
- Write clear, detailed creative briefs for our Deer Designer design service
- Review deliverables from external designers and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately
- Work closely with project managers and strategists to understand client goals and turn them into visual solutions

Client-Facing Design Work
- Handle design-related client requests — website refreshes, new page designs, visual updates
- Present design options and explain your thinking when needed
- Represent the agency professionally in every interaction

Content & Marketing Design Support
- Design email templates, ad graphics, and social media visuals as needed
- Support the team with design assets for campaigns, launches, and promotions

MUST-HAVE SKILLS
? 2+ years of hands-on design experience (web design, graphic design, or both)
? Strong portfolio showing clean, modern web design work
? Proficiency with Canva, Photoshop, or similar design tools
? Strong eye for layout, typography, color, and spacing
? Experience with or eagerness to use AI design tools ( ---------- v, Nano Banana, etc.)
? Strong written and verbal communication skills (English) — this is critical
? Problem solving and critical thinking
? Passion for learning new tools and techniques
? Detail oriented
? Reliable, meets deadlines, communicates proactively

NICE TO HAVE
WordPress/WooCommerce experience
Figma experience
Basic HTML/CSS knowledge (enough to make minor tweaks)
Experience creating design briefs for external design services
Familiarity with brand style guide creation or management
Motion graphics or video editing skills

HOW WE WORK
Small team, async-first, with flexible overlap during US business hours. We use SOPs and checklists — we'll train you on our systems. We expect you to be resourceful: if you don't know something, you figure it out and ask smart questions. We're big on collaboration and communication — you won't be working in a silo.
