About the Role

We are Truant Press, a startup comic book publisher! We are looking for a fast, reliable, and creative Social Media & Email Specialist who understands comic books and can execute daily content across multiple platforms. We launch our first comic book in under 60 days and we need a hard working self starter to help us make some noise!

This is a hands-on execution role — you will be posting, writing, organizing, and improving performance every day.

Responsibilities

Social Media

Post daily across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

Write captions tailored to each platform (not copy/paste)

Optimize posts for engagement and reach

Stay current with trends and adapt content accordingly


Facebook Group Management

Manage and grow our Facebook Group

Approve members, moderate posts, and remove spam

Create posts, polls, and discussions to drive engagement


Email Marketing

Send marketing emails every 2–3 days

Promote product drops, comics, and announcements

Work in Klaviyo (or similar platform)

Continuously improve open rates and conversions

Content & Planning

Maintain a structured social media calendar

Coordinate content around launches, characters, and campaigns

Work with our team to gather images, videos, and assets

AI & Writing

Use ChatGPT/AI tools to:

Write social posts

Create marketing emails

Generate press releases and announcements

Qualifications

Strong understanding of comic books, characters, and fandom culture (REQUIRED)

Experience managing social media accounts (TikTok, IG, Facebook, YouTube, X)

Strong writing skills (clear, engaging, fast)

Organized and able to manage a content calendar

Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Preferred)

Experience editing videos (CapCut or similar)

Ability to create short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts)

Canva or basic graphic design skills

Experience with Klaviyo or email marketing platforms
