Web Development Project Manager, Non-Coding Role
Remote, full-time
Strong overlap with CST required
About the role
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive Web Development Project Manager to help manage website projects across our agency.
This is not a developer role. You do not need to code. But you do need to understand how website projects move from kickoff, to design, to development, to QA, to client review, to launch.
You will help keep projects moving, make sure nothing falls through the cracks, maintain our PM systems, manage help desk ticket flow, coordinate with developers and account managers, and ensure work is properly QA’d before it reaches the client.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked inside a digital marketing agency, web agency, or operations-heavy online business, and already understands the basics of website project management, timelines, approvals, revisions, launch readiness, and written client updates.
What success looks like
In this role, success means:
Projects stay organized and updated
Deadlines are visible and realistic
Help desk issues are routed and followed up on quickly
QA is consistent and thorough
Account managers are supported, not blocked
Developers get clear instructions
Clients are not surprised by delays
Leadership does not have to step in to chase status
This role is built around clear ownership, early risk detection, proper handoffs, and consistent follow-through. The PM is expected to protect delivery, not just report on it.
Key responsibilities
Manage active web development and design projects from kickoff through launch and post-launch follow up
Keep project timelines, statuses, next steps, and pending client items updated inside our PM systems
Review and manage help desk tickets multiple times daily, route tickets to the right person, follow up internally, and help maintain SLA response times
Coordinate with developers, designers, account managers, and leadership to keep work moving
QA website work before it is sent for internal review or client review, including links, mobile layout, assets, formatting, tracking, naming, and technical correctness
Ensure work moves through the proper delivery gates and does not skip process
Follow up on blockers, missing assets, approvals, and delayed items before they become emergencies
Help prepare estimates and scope summaries using our internal SOPs, then route them for approval
Assist with launch readiness, post-live checks, and basic troubleshooting coordination
Communicate concise project updates through Slack,
Eventually run our Monday web development meeting and help lead project accountability for the dev lane
Over time, grow into supporting some white-label coordination as well
The QA and delivery side of this role is especially important. In our system, the PM is responsible for checking whether work is built correctly before it reaches the next stage.
Required experience and skills
2+ years of project management or operations experience in a web agency, digital marketing agency, or similar environment
Strong understanding of website project flow, even if you are not a developer
Experience coordinating WordPress projects, Shopify projects, or both
Strong written English and clear, concise communication
Strong attention to detail, especially in QA and follow through
Comfortable working in Slack,
Able to organize multiple moving projects without losing track of details
Comfortable asking clarifying questions instead of guessing
Able to identify blockers early and escalate appropriately
Comfortable working with deadlines, timelines, revisions, and internal accountability systems
Able to work full-time with strong overlap during CST business hours
Nice to have
Agency experience with web design, web development, or SEO
Familiarity with WordPress, Elementor Shopify, staging sites, hosting, domains, and DNS basics
Experience with launch checklists, tracking setup coordination, or post-live QA
Experience handling white label coordination
Experience preparing quotes or scope summaries
Experience supporting account managers or client communication in an async environment
Schedule and availability
Full-time role
Strong overlap with CST business hours is required
Ideal working window is roughly aligned with a 8 AM to 4 PM CST workday, with some flexibility on exact start and end time
