JOB OVERVIEW

Part-Time WordPress Tech / Website Manager & Builder

Hey! I'm Marina, owner of a small web design agency based in the US (WebTree Creative). I build and manage WordPress websites for small businesses and nonprofits, everything from local contractors to chambers of commerce. We are a small team and have hit the point where we genuinely need a reliable tech person by my side.

This is a part-time, long-term role, about 20 hours per week to start, with the potential to grow. I'm not looking for someone to just follow a checklist. I want someone who actually gets WordPress, can troubleshoot when things go sideways, and communicates clearly when something is wrong.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING

Website Builds

This is a big part of the role and I want to be upfront: I have high standards here. I have seen a lot of sloppy Elementor work in this industry, inconsistent spacing, fonts that don't match the design, sections that fall apart on mobile, and that is not what we do. When I hand you a Figma file or a design reference, I expect the final site to match it as closely as possible. Pixel-perfect is the goal, not "close enough.". Of course there's flexibility within reason.

Specifically, you will be:

- Building full WordPress sites from Figma designs and other design references, matching layouts, typography, spacing, colors, and interactions faithfully
- Setting up Elementor theme builder properly, headers, footers, single templates, archive pages, not just dropping widgets on pages
- Building with a clean, consistent structure: global colors, global fonts, reusable sections, no inline style chaos
- Making sure every build is genuinely responsive, not just "it works on mobile" but actually looks intentional and polished on every screen size
- Optimizing images and build structure for performance, we do not ship bloated sites
- Handing off sites that are easy for clients to edit without breaking everything

Ongoing Site Management

- WordPress plugin and theme updates across multiple client sites (we use WP Engine for hosting)
- Troubleshooting email delivery issues, we use FluentSMTP and Brevo to send transactional email
- DNS management, pointing domains, setting up Cloudflare, troubleshooting propagation issues
- Helping onboard new client sites, installing plugins, configuring settings, running test emails
- Monitoring for security issues, spam form submissions, and anything that looks off
- Occasionally setting up or fixing Google Apps Script automations or Zapier/Make workflows
- Communicating with clients directly when needed (professional, friendly tone required)

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT IF YOU...

- Have built real, polished websites in Elementor Pro — not just edited templates, but built from scratch from a design file
- Understand Elementor's global settings, theme builder, dynamic content, and custom CSS — and know when to use each one
- Can look at a Figma file and translate it to a live site accurately, not approximately
- Know WP Engine inside and out, environments, SFTP, staging, logs
- Understand how email deliverability works, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP setup
- Are comfortable in Cloudflare, DNS records, proxying, bot protection
- Can read an error message and figure out what it means without panicking
- Have worked with a US-based agency or client before
- Communicate proactively, if something is broken or you are not sure, you say so immediately
- Are available during some US business hours (Mountain Time preferred, but flexible for the right person)

NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)

- Familiarity with Google Search Console and basic SEO
- Experience with Asana, Slack, or similar project management tools
- Basic PHP for small customizations

WHAT WORKING WITH ME IS LIKE

I'm direct, low-drama, and I appreciate the same. I will not micromanage you, I trust people to do their job. But I do expect clean work, clear communication, and honesty when something is not working or you are not sure how to do something. My clients are real small businesses who depend on their websites, so reliability and quality matter a lot to me.

I will start you on a couple of sites to get a feel for how we work together, and we will grow from there. I pay on time, every time.

TO APPLY, please start your message with the word Blueberry and include:
- Your hourly or monthly rate
- A link to 2–3 websites you built in Elementor (not templates, actual builds from a design)
- A specific WordPress or Elementor problem you solved that you are proud of

If your portfolio links are not live anymore, screenshots are fine, I just want to see your actual work.

Hours: ~20 hrs/week to start
