Web Designer & Developer (Virtual Assistant)

About the Role

We are a growing agency looking for a talented and reliable Web Designer & Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be the creative and technical engine behind our clients' websites, designing beautiful mockups in Figma and bringing them to life on WordPress. You will also support clients on Wix and Squarespace with ongoing updates and maintenance.
This is a full-time position with consistent work, clear communication, and a supportive team. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and delivers high-quality output on time.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design professional website mockups in Figma (primarily 2 mockups per project, desktop and mobile views)
• Develop and build websites on WordPress based on approved Figma designs
• Perform ongoing website updates and edits for clients on Wix and Squarespace
• Ensure websites are responsive, fast-loading, and cross-browser compatible
• Implement basic on-page SEO best practices during development
• Communicate project progress and flag any blockers or timeline concerns proactively
• Revise designs and builds based on client and internal feedback
• Maintain organized project files and documentation

Requirements

Design Skills

• Strong proficiency in Figma, you can design clean, modern, and client-ready mockups independently
• Good eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
• Experience designing for both desktop and mobile
• Experience in graphic design, creating ads for social media when needed

Development Skills

• Solid experience building websites on WordPress (themes, Elementor or similar page builders, custom CSS)
• Comfortable making updates and edits on Wix and Squarespace
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Ability to translate a Figma design into a pixel-accurate website build

Work Style & Communication

• Fluent in written English, clear, professional communication is a must
• Reliable with deadlines and able to manage your own time effectively
• Comfortable using tools like Slack, Trello, Asana, or similar project management platforms
• Responds to messages within business hours and proactively communicates updates
Nice to Have (Not Required)
• Experience with WooCommerce or basic e-commerce setups
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Search Console, or basic SEO tools
• Experience creating amazing graphic designs in Canva or Adobe tools
• Knowledge of website speed optimization (image compression, caching plugins, etc.)
