JOB OVERVIEW

We're a venture-backed US startup (Delaware C-corp) with a small, remote team. We're looking for a full-time operations specialist to own our back-office — bookkeeping, payroll, HR admin, and general administrative tasks.

You'll be responsible for:

Bookkeeping and monthly bank reconciliation (QuickBooks Online + Mercury)
Managing payroll and contractor payments through Gusto
Expense tracking, transaction categorization, and keeping books clean
Basic HR: onboarding paperwork, contractor agreements, benefits admin
Cap table and equity platform support (Carta)
Accounts payable/receivable and invoice management
Tracking compliance deadlines (Delaware franchise tax, state filings, annual reports)
Preparing monthly financial summaries for the founder
General admin: scheduling, email management, document organization, research tasks
Vendor coordination, subscription management, and tool admin
Ad hoc tasks as the company grows — we need someone flexible

What we're looking for:

Experience supporting US-based startups (not large corporations)
Familiarity with Gusto, QuickBooks Online, Mercury, or similar US tools
Understanding of W-2 vs 1099 classification and basic startup accounting
Strong English communication — you'll work directly with the founder
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable owning tasks end-to-end
Trustworthy — you'll have access to sensitive financial systems
Available during US Pacific Time overlap (at least 4 hours/day)

Nice to have:

Experience with Carta or cap table software
Familiarity with Delaware C-corp compliance
Experience with Stripe billing/revenue tracking
Comfort with AI tools and learning new software quickly

This is a long-term role with real ownership and room to grow as the company scales.
