Backend Developer / Cofounder

Overview

Nock is building software that automates SMS coordination with subcontractors—scheduling, progress updates, and follow-ups—so projects run without constant manual texting.

We’re looking for a fast, product-minded engineer who is comfortable building with AI (Claude). You’ll work directly with the founder and ship real features weekly.

Stack: TypeScript (Next.js), Supabase (Postgres), Vercel, Twilio
Frontend: Built by founder (minimal involvement expected)

What you’ll build
ONnboarding
SMS automation
Job workflows (milestones, progress tracking)
Admin tools (status, logs, overrides)
Integrations (Twilio, webhooks, CRM later)
Reliability (retries, idempotency, logging)



Responsibilities
Build backend systems and APIs end-to-end
Ship clean, working features weekly
Use Claude effectively (coding, debugging, iteration)
Handle edge cases and production issues
Keep systems simple and reliable


Must-have
Strong backend experience (modern JS/TS stack preferred)
Solid DB + API fundamentals (Postgres, async jobs, REST)
Comfortable with AI-assisted coding workflows
Can debug production issues and think through edge cases
Moves fast without breaking things


Nice-to-have
Supabase or serverless experience
Multi-tenant SaaS experience

Part-time (10–20 hrs/week) to start
