Creative Director, Brand & Visual Identity — 7 Leaves Cafe
We are not looking for someone to execute a brief. We are looking for someone who writes the brief.
7 Leaves Cafe is a 40+ location beverage brand built on exceptional quality, cultural depth, and a customer experience that is genuinely distinct. We have grown through product and community. Now we are ready to grow through design, and we need a creative leader who can own that chapter entirely.
The Role
This role exists to establish, protect, and elevate the visual identity of 7 Leaves across every surface — physical, digital, and experiential. You will be the first person who truly owns this function. You will report directly into leadership with full authority to champion design as a strategic asset. We are open to full-time, fractional, or a project engagement that transitions into a longer-term partnership.
What You Will Own
- Brand architecture — identity system, typography, color, photography, tone
- Retail and in-store experience — signage, packaging, physical touchpoints
- Digital and campaign design — social, marketing, launches
- Creative direction of external collaborators
- Brand governance — you set and hold the standard
Who You Are
- 8+ years in brand design, art direction, or creative leadership
- Portfolio that shows systems thinking, not just beautiful one-offs
- Experience building consumer brands in food, beverage, hospitality, or retail
- You have a point of view, can defend it, and know when to update it
- You are energized by ownership, not intimidated by it
What We Are Not Looking For
This is not a production role. Not a generalist freelancer. Not a trend-follower. We need creative vision, brand depth, and genuine conviction.
How to Apply
Skip the cover letter template. Send us:
1. Your portfolio (required — no exceptions)
2. 3–5 sentences on what you believe is visually underdeveloped about 7 Leaves today, based on what you've observed publicly
3. One project from your portfolio that proves you can do this job — and why
4. Your preferred engagement model and rate
Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed. The brand note is not optional.
