The Accounting and Finance Manager provides overall leadership in managing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and statutory compliance. The position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data and supports management in decision-making through timely and reliable financial information. The role also supervises the accounting team, establishes internal controls, and coordinates with internal and external auditors to maintain financial transparency and compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and Reporting
?Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
?Review and analyze financial performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
?Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
?. Develop and implement internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets.
?Lead the month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting
?Direct the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts in coordination with department heads.
?Monitor budget utilization, analyze variances, and report deviations to management.
?Provide financial analysis and projections to support management’s strategic and operational planning.
?Recommend cost-control initiatives and resource optimization measures.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management
?Monitor cash flow, fund availability, and bank balances to ensure adequate liquidity.
?Oversee disbursements, collections, and fund transfers in accordance with company policies.
?Manage relationships with financial institutions to secure favorable terms for credit facilities, investments, and other financial services.
?Evaluate and recommend options for investment and capital utilization.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance
?Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
?. Review and approve statutory filings, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other mandatory returns.
?Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies for audits, assessments, or queries.
?Keep management informed of changes in tax and financial regulations that may affect company operations.
Leadership and People Management
?Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the accounting and finance staff to ensure high performance.
?Provide training and guidance to strengthen technical and analytical skills within the team.
?Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance group.
?Support succession planning and career development initiatives for key roles in the department.
