Job Overview

PlanetArt is looking for a Merchandising Associate to support the company’s Merchandising department.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, product development, data management + analysis, inventory oversite and website aesthetic + functionality.

At PlanetArt, the Merchandising Associate is responsible for supporting in a wide variety of product research, development and analysis.
This role provides an opportunity to use a combination of analytical and creative skills!
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to; website and product updates, product research and selection, asset management, cost/pricing requests, creative briefs, inventory checks, data management and communicating with internal and external partners.

This is a remote, work-from-home position.


What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities

Assortment Planning - Research & Development

Assist with a variety of research and analysis with product and pricing
Conduct competitive analysis as we build product assortments
Conduct competitive analysis for pricing research
Conduct competitive analysis for product research
Research new products & vendors and help build assortments for upcoming launches
Assist with inventory management – Help research inventory status of products featured in upcoming promotions
Sample Management – Manage sample orders

Cost & Pricing Requests

Create and manage cost and pricing request using our internal system in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Maintain documentation and version control for product cost and pricing updates
Communicate with cross-functional teams to assist with gathering COGS across product categories
Conduct competitive analysis on product pricing across product categories as we onboard new products
Pricing Updates – Learn our internal tools and assist with updates as needed

Website Support

Assist with website and product management: Learn internal tools and help with on-site merchandising updates
Product Copy – Help ensure the correct product attributes are listed in product detail pages
Monitor and analyze the aesthetic and performance of product and category pages, seeking ways to improve the online catalog based on data
Enhance the shopping experience by maintaining site organization through filters, search tags, and keywords.
Maintain site integrity by overseeing product status and updating product and color changes as needed
Perform periodic audits to maintain product accuracy across homepages, landing pages, and product category pages
Learn our internal tools and help with homepage zone, pills and general website updates
Filter updates & research – Learn about filters and how to use filter tagging tool

Marketing Campaigns

Assist in selecting merchandise for promotional use in marketing assets, aligning with strategic goals
Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to create visually compelling presentations of products in marketing materials.
Review marketing materials for accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal, providing feedback and recommendations.
Create creative briefs requesting assets based on brand and seasonal needs
Filter updates & research – Learn about filters and how to use filter tagging tool

What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:

Associate or bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, buying or a similar role
Strong analytical skills with ability to manage large datasets
Strong understanding of online retail and e-commerce best practices
Strong proficiency with Excel, PLM and ERP systems are a plus!
Experience with Jira and project management systems is a plus!
Experience with Shopify or basic website build is a huge plus!
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus!
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment


What You Can Expect
Working Conditions:
Position requires long-term and fully remote work scheduled from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM US Pacific Time
Position requires regular, continuous use of computer.
Position requires regular sitting and standing.
Position requires regular interaction with tea ---------- mbers through the following methods: phone, WebEx, Slack, or email.
Position requires time and screen tracking via Hubstaff


Work From Home Requirements:
Own computer (Windows 10 or higher or Mac, at least 8GB RAM and at least Intel i5, Ryzen 5 or M1 processor)

Pay Range:
Pay Rate: ?70,000 to ?80,000 per month
