The Bookkeeper is responsible for the following –
Onboarding of New Contractors and Extensions
• Compliance checking of paperwork (including the appropriate parties’ signature, correct clients’ and contractors’ details, dates & rates calculation)
• Completing onboarding of new and existing contractors into the Payroll System utilising knowledge of payroll legislation (including superannuation, payroll tax and insurances)
• Completing immigration working rights checks for non-Australian passport holders
• Liaising with internal staff and external personnel, including contractors and clients
• Chasing Purchase Orders for relevant clients
• Maintaining proper audit trails for all electronic file documentations
Accounts receivables/ Credit Control
• Invoice preparation for all contracting invoices (weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
• Credit control and collection of outstanding invoices (ensuring the debtors’ days are kept below 30 days and no invoices are older than 90 days)
• Uploading invoices into the Supplier’s portal
• Payment allocation to the correct invoices
• Working with the Finance team to resolve discrepancies
• Liaising with internal staff and external personnel as required
Timesheets check and reporting
• Checking and approving of internal approval contractors’ timesheets
• Preparation of weekly debtors’ reports
Other
• Prepare and post general journals
• Ad-hoc tasks
• Prepare reports
• Assisting the team with month-end and year-end tasks
• Importing journals and invoices
• General support to the Finance team
Profile
Australian Recruitment Business Experience required
Bookkeeping background with local work experience of 5+ years, preferably in payroll Award interpretation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Software experience preferred – Myob, Xero, Astute Payroll, Excel (intermediate level), Microsoft Office
Team player and Can-do Attitude
