Accounting Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a portfolio of founder-led consumer product brands across e-commerce, retail, and CPG.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting function while working closely with founders and operators. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financials, driving strong processes, and delivering insights that support better decision-making.

You’ll operate with a high level of autonomy, manage a small team, and play a key role in maintaining financial clarity across multiple brands.

Responsibilities
• Own and execute month-end close and financial reporting
• Manage inventory accounting, including subledger to GL reconciliations, write-offs, and accuracy checks
• Oversee AP/AR processes, bill payments, and payroll entries
• Prepare and review financial packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, trend analysis)
• Deliver financial insights and recommendations to founders and internal stakeholders
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters (calls, presentations, ongoing communication)
• Manage and mentor 1–2 bookkeepers
• Oversee a portfolio of 5–6 brands

Requirements:
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• 2+ years working in multi-entity or fast-paced environments (e.g., supporting multiple brands or business units)
• Proven ability to own accounting end-to-end (Controller-level capability)
• Experience managing 1–2 direct reports (bookkeepers)
• Strong experience communicating financial information clearly (calls, presentations, async updates)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong experience in e-commerce accounting
• Hands-on experience with Shopify and Amazon reconciliations
• Proven ability to independently manage the full accounting cycle
• Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
• Direct ownership of inventory accounting (not just exposure)
• Experience working across multiple entities simultaneously
• Advanced Excel skills

Nice to have:
• Experience with NetSuite
• Familiarity with fintech and accounting tools such as ---------- , Ramp, Mercury, Rho, Settle, Wayflyer, Gusto, Deel, and JustWorks
• Experience with inventory systems such as CIN7, Fishbowl, Katana, or ApparelMagic
• Familiarity with wholesale tools (SPS Commerce is a strong plus)
