About Chasm Opportunities
Chasm Opportunities LLC, based in Lebanon, Tennessee, helps small businesses and dual-use technology founders navigate the "chasm" between innovation and adoption, across both commercial and government markets. We are launching a new founder community, Chasm Crossers, on the Skyler Network, and we also support clients through CRM-driven outreach and relationship management.
You will work directly with the founder, David Madden, and play a key role in building and running both the Chasm Crossers community and core Chasm Opportunities operations.
Role Overview
This is a hybrid role that combines:
1. Community & Social Media (Skyler + LinkedIn)
2. Operations & CRM Support (Monday CRM + light research)
You will start at 20 hours per week with a clear path to increased responsibility and hours over time if we work well together and the workload grows.
Key Responsibilities
A. Chasm Crossers Community (Skyler) – ~10 hours/week (sometimes more during launches)
• Manage the Chasm Crossers community on the Skyler Network.
• Post content and updates on the Skyler community (founder-focused, B2B tone).
• Develop and maintain standardized templates for welcome messages, new member sequences, partner posts, and community announcements.
• Set up and maintain welcome messages and sequences for new members.
• Welcome new members, tag them in introduction threads, and send friendly DMs.
• Respond to member questions and basic support requests in a timely, professional way.
• Track vetted partners and their submissions (forms, ads, promotions) using simple tracking tools (e.g., spreadsheets, Skyler fields, Notion).
• Create standardized post templates and turn vetted partner and product form submissions into polished posts using those templates.
• Coordinate and attend (when needed) weekly training sessions on the Skyler network to improve skills and keep up with platform changes (time counted within your 20 hours).
• Help monitor for any questionable or non-compliant posts (e.g., unqualified securities offerings or inappropriate content) and flag them to the founder for review.
B. Operations Assistant – Chasm Opportunities – ~10–12 hours/week
• Maintain and update Monday CRM:
• Add new leads and contacts from events, conferences, and forms.
• Update statuses, notes, and follow-up reminders.
• Keep data clean and organized.
• Support LinkedIn presence:
• Create and schedule 1 LinkedIn post per week on the founder/company LinkedIn pages.
• Develop post templates and a content framework to maintain consistent brand voice for B2B founders, investors, and partners.
• Light research:
• Research potential partners, funding programs, or relevant events.
• Compile simple lists (e.g., potential dual-use funders, conferences, ecosystem partners).
• Assist with basic admin and documentation:
• Maintain simple SOPs and checklists in Notion (or similar).
• Capture “lessons learned” from campaigns or events into structured notes.
Tools You'll Use
• Community & Social: Skyler Network (training provided), LinkedIn.
• CRM & Ops: Monday CRM, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Notion, basic spreadsheets.
• Design: Canva (or similar) for basic graphics (simple social images, thumbnails, images to pair with blog posts).
• AI: Perplexity, Google Gemini, Canva AI, and other AI tools to improve speed and quality.
Required Skills & Experience
• Location: Based in the Philippines.
• Experience:
• 2+ years as a Virtual Assistant, Social Media VA, Community Manager, or similar.
• Direct experience managing LinkedIn content (personal or company pages).
• Experience managing or moderating an online group/community (Slack, ---------- , Mighty Networks, Circle, etc.) is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable developing simple, reusable templates for posts, messages, and documents (not just using existing templates).
• Communication:
• Strong written English, comfortable writing short posts, DMs, and professional messages.
• Able to adapt tone for B2B founders, investors, and partners.
• Tech Skills:
• Comfortable using SaaS tools and learning new platforms (training will be provided for Skyler and internal tools).
• Experience with Monday CRM or other CRMs is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
• Experience with Notion (or similar documentation/knowledge tools) is a plus.
• Basic Canva (or similar) skills for creating simple graphics to accompany posts.
• AI Tools:
• Actively uses AI tools (specifically Perplexity, Google Gemini, Canva AI, or similar) to improve productivity and content quality—not as a replacement for judgment.
• Work Style:
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Comfortable working semi-async (you may receive tasks in the US evening and complete them during PH daytime).
• Honest and transparent about workload, timing, and AI usage.
Hours & Flexibility
• 20 hours per week, typically spread over 4–5 days.
• Flex time is allowed with advance notice (for example, you may work longer days earlier in the week and take a 3-day weekend, as long as tasks and deadlines are met).
• Ability to “surge” focus:
• Some weeks may emphasize Skyler community more; other weeks, especially after conferences, may focus more on CRM and follow-ups.
Compensation & Raises
• Competitive, experience-based hourly rate, to be agreed during hiring.
• Planned 5% raise at 90 days with successful performance.
• Additional 5% raise at 180 days with continued successful performance.
• After 180 days, annual performance and market review on your work anniversary, typically targeting a 3–5% increase based on performance and business conditions.
Time Off & Holidays (Summary)
• 10 paid days of PTO per year, prorated based on start date, including sick time.
• Company is closed from Dec 23 – Jan 2; you are not expected to work and do not need to use PTO for that period.
• You may choose 4 additional flexible holidays per year (e.g., specific PH holidays important to you), to be agreed at the start of employment each year.
• Flex time available with advance notice (shift hours within a week).
To apply, please send:
1. A 2-paragraph introduction explaining why you're a good fit for this hybrid Community + Operations role.
2. A brief note about:
• Your experience with Canva (or similar tools).
• Your experience with AI tools (specifically Perplexity, Google Gemini, or similar, and how you use them in your work).
3. Your current hourly rate and availability (PH time zone).
