About Inner Child
Inner Child is a design-led home decor and accessories brand built around delightful, high-quality artisanal products—think elevated, playful, and beautiful. We sell primarily DTC on Shopify and wholesale via Faire, and we run a fast-moving operation where details matter.
We’re looking for a sharp, reliable VA to own the daily operating rhythm across Shopify, Faire, customer experience, and general e-comm operations. This role is for someone who likes clean systems, takes initiative, and can keep an online store running smoothly without being chased.
What You’ll Own (Responsibilities)
1) Shopify Operations (Daily / Weekly)
Maintain product listings: titles, descriptions, variants, pricing, tags, collections, SEO fields
Upload and organize product images; ensure images are correctly cropped/centered and consistent
Publish new products and update existing ones as inventory, packaging, or specs change
Create and QA discount codes and promotions (rules, stacking behavior, expiration)
Basic site QA: broken links, navigation issues, add-to-cart/checkout checks, out-of-stock logic
Coordinate simple theme setting updates (no heavy coding required)
2) Faire Wholesale Operations
Process wholesale orders and communicate timelines/updates to buyers
Maintain Faire catalog: listings, pricing, case packs, lead times, inventory sync logic
Handle buyer messaging (fast, friendly, professional) and resolve issues
Support sampling, new account onboarding, and re-order workflows
Prepare weekly snapshots: orders, inquiries, best-sellers, and anything that needs attention
3) Customer Experience (CX) –
Respond to customer
Handle common requests: shipping updates, order edits, returns/exchanges, product questions
Track and escalate exceptions: lost/damaged packages, wrong items, address issues
Maintain CX macros/templates and improve them over time (faster + more consistent)
4) Daily Operations & Admin
Coordinate with 3PL/warehouse: shipment issues, inventory checks, address corrections
Create/maintain simple trackers: backorders, replacements, damaged goods, open issues
Support basic reporting: daily order count, top SKUs, low stock, returns reasons, etc.
Keep operations organized: clean documentation, checklists, and “nothing falls through cracks” follow-through

You are proactive and detail-obsessed (in a good way): you spot issues before customers do
You communicate clearly and don’t let tasks linger
You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with lots of small moving parts
You like building systems: templates, checklists, trackers, and repeatable workflows
You can switch between creative brand polish and operational precision
Requirements
Hands-on experience with Shopify (product setup, collections, discounts, order basics)
Experience with Faire (preferred) or wholesale marketplace workflows
Strong written English and customer-facing professionalism
Extremely organized; comfortable managing multiple workstreams and deadlines
Comfortable with Google Sheets / Excel and lightweight reporting
Bonus: Klaviyo basics, Google Merchant Center familiarity, or Shopify apps (reviews, bundles, inventory tools)
