Video Software Application Builder

The Project
We've built a web app that automates video production. It's live, in production, and producing real videos across multiple channels but contains a HUGE amount of bugs / failures / inconsistencies.
Think of it as an automated video factory: you feed it a topic, and the system researches, writes a script, generates voiceover, creates/finds visuals, assembles everything with FFmpeg, and outputs a finished video with thumbnails.

The app has 7 different video pipeline types, a full React UI with 30+ pages, and integrates with 15+ external APIs (AI models, text-to-speech, image/video generation, transcription, etc.).
We need help building out new features, fixing bugs, and improving the pipeline.

Tech Stack

- Backend: Node.js, Express, TypeScript
- Frontend: React 18, Vite, Zustand, Tailwind CSS
- Database: SQLite + Prisma ORM

What You'd Work On

- Building/debugging pipeline steps and features
- Improving API integrations and error handling
- Frontend UI improvements
- Performance optimization of video processing pipelines
- Building a queue/orchestration system for parallel pipeline runs

What We're Looking For
Must-have:

- Strong TypeScript + Node.js
- React experience

Big plus:

- FFmpeg knowledge
- Prisma ORM experience
- Remotion or video processing background


How We Work

- Communication via chat (English or Dutch)
- Development happens directly on the server and GitHub
- We use AI coding tools (Claude Code) to speed up implementation
- Features are specced out before building
- Test on staging, then merge to production
- Direct, no-nonsense communication — we focus on shipping


Compensation
