I am looking for a highly capable Interior Design & Architectural Assistant to support ongoing design and development work for a boutique hospitality brand. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both design thinking and technical modeling — someone who can help bring spaces to life visually while also supporting the practical work of materials research, specifications, and sourcing. This position starts part-time with flexible hours but may scale into a larger role depending on performance.
You will work directly alongside the founder and designer to help develop projects from concept ? design iteration ? visualization ? specifications ? purchasing.
ABOUT THE PROJECT -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will be supporting design work for Cosmic Cactus B&B, a boutique portfolio of luxury short-term rental properties located near South Padre Island / Port Isabel, Texas. The brand blends coastal beach design with playful cosmic elements, creating highly distinctive and memorable spaces for guests.

Projects typically involve:
• residential hospitality interiors
• exterior architectural design
• material and finish exploration
• furniture and lighting sourcing
• 3D modeling and rendering
• design presentations and specifications
The work is fast-paced, creative, and collaborative.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. Architectural Modeling.
MUST have strong proficiency in BOTH:
• Revit (revision of existing architectural models)
• SketchUp (design exploration models + materials testing)
This includes:
• making revisions based on markups
• cleaning and organizing models
• building interior and exterior environments
• testing materials and layouts
• preparing views for rendering
II. Rendering & Visualization
Create high-quality visualizations for design review. Preferred tools:
• Enscape
• Lumion / Twinmotion / other rendering tools acceptable
Tasks include:
• setting materials and lighting
• preparing scenes and views
• exporting renderings for presentations
III. Interior Design Support & Documentation
Assist with the interior design process, including:
• preparing & managing design presentations
• researching finishes and materials
• developing palettes and combinations
• testing materials within the 3D model
• assisting with furniture and lighting layouts
Strong finish and material knowledge is important.
IV. Sourcing & Specifications
Support the technical side of design decisions:
• sourcing furniture, fixtures, lighting, and finishes
• contacting vendors and requesting information via
• obtaining product samples
• preparing spec documents on Google Sheets
• assisting with material takeoffs
• organizing product links and purchasing information
REQUIRED SKILLS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Must have strong proficiency in:
• Revit
• SketchUp
You should also have experience with:
• rendering software (Enscape preferred)
• Photoshop / Canva / presentation tools
• Indesign
• Google Workspace
• Familiarity with AI tools for design research and productivity is preferred.
• Comfortable exchanging working models via Google Drive or shared cloud storage and maintaining clear file naming and version control.
Design Skills --
You should have:
• strong interior design awareness
• understanding of materials and finishes
• ability to assemble cohesive palettes
• ability to translate design ideas into 3D models
Communication & Work Style --

You will often receive markups, design direction, or rough ideas, and will be expected to help develop and execute them.
Technical Requirements--
You must have:
• a reliable computer capable of running Revit and SketchUp
• strong internet connection
• ability to communicate via
• Good written English communication is required.
Work Structure --
• Part-time position
• Flexible hours
• Approximately 10–20 hours per week initially
You do not need to work US hours, but must be:
• responsive to messages
• available for occasional scheduled meetings
The role may grow into more hours and responsibilities depending on performance.
COMPENSATION --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$6/hour starting rate paid hourly based on work completed. Opportunity for long-term collaboration and expanded role.
