JOB OVERVIEW

Job Overview:
I’m a Melbourne-based creative strategist and content producer working with hospitality, construction and lifestyle brands. I need a reliable Social Media Manager / Virtual Assistant to take over the implementation side: scheduling, light editing, Canva assets, basic reporting, and day-to-day coordination, so I can stay focused on strategy and creative. This is a long-term, part-time role with room to grow.

Responsibilities:

Build weekly content calendars from my strategy notes and briefs.

Schedule and publish posts on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn using scheduling tools.

Upload and publish edited videos and assets from our videographers/editors.

Do light video editing (simple cuts, trims, adding captions or subtitles using templates) when needed.

Create simple Canva assets (stories, thumbnails, basic graphics, text overlays) following brand guidelines and examples.

Draft and polish captions based on my prompts, brand voice guides and examples.

Add hashtags, tags, and basic formatting according to checklists.

Track performance and prepare simple monthly reports (screenshots, metrics, top posts); I’ll add insights.

Coordinate small tasks:

Chase clients for approvals/assets.

Confirm shoot times with clients and videographers.

Keep a simple content tracker up to date.

Maintain folders and naming conventions in Google Drive/Dropbox/Notion.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

Experience managing social media accounts for clients or brands (please send examples).

Comfortable with Instagram, TikTok and ideally LinkedIn publishing.

Strong written English; can adapt tone to different brands.

Basic video editing skills (e.g. CapCut, VN, Premiere, or similar).

Confident using Canva for social graphics and simple layouts.

Good with organisation and follow?through (you enjoy checklists and systems).

Experience with any scheduling tool (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Later, Hootsuite, etc.).

Comfortable working in Australian business hours overlap (at least 3 hours overlap with AEST).

Nice to Have (but not required):

Experience working with agencies/creative studios.

Familiarity with Notion, ClickUp, or similar project management tools.

You Are:

Detail?oriented and reliable – you like getting things out on time.

Proactive – you follow up without being chased and flag issues early.

Happy to take direction on strategy but comfortable running the day?to?day execution.
