JOB OVERVIEW

We're seeking a dedicated Visual Research Assistant / Video Editor Support (beginner-friendly role) to join our growing team as a remote collaborator.
As a content creator managing several successful YouTube documentary channels, I produce in-depth, narrative-driven videos on fascinating topics ranging from history and science to true stories and mysteries. To keep up with our production schedule and maintain high visual quality, I'm looking for a reliable team member who specializes in sourcing and curating visuals that perfectly align with provided scripts and narration.
Key Responsibilities:

Read through detailed video scripts and outlines to understand the required visuals, tone, and key storytelling moments.
Proactively search for and collect high-quality, relevant stock footage, archival photos, B-roll clips, images, maps, graphics, and other visual assets from licensed sources (e.g., Shutterstock, Pond5, Getty, public domain archives, YouTube Creative Commons, etc.).
Ensure all visuals match the script's factual accuracy, era, mood, and aesthetic requirements while prioritizing copyright-safe and commercially usable material.
Organize and deliver curated visual selections in a clear, structured format (e.g., labeled folders, Google Drive links, timestamps/notes on why each clip/image fits).
Occasionally assist with basic video editing tasks (e.g., assembling rough cuts in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut) if you have those skills — but this is not the primary focus.
Communicate progress quickly via chat (Discord/Slack/Telegram) and be available for real-time voice/video calls during work hours to discuss findings, clarify needs, or brainstorm.

What We're Looking For:

Strong English communication skills — fast responses, clear written updates, and comfort speaking on calls (microphone required).
Excellent research skills and attention to detail — you enjoy digging deep to find the perfect visual match.
Familiarity with online stock libraries, public domain resources, and fair-use guidelines (prior experience is a plus but not required — we'll guide beginners).
Reliable internet connection and basic computer setup for file handling and calls.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Passion for documentaries, storytelling, or YouTube content creation is a big advantage.
Beginner-friendly: No advanced editing portfolio needed — enthusiasm and quick learning matter more than years of experience.

This is a remote, part-time to full-time position (hours flexible but with overlapping availability for calls during Philippine business hours or similar). Compensation is a competitive monthly salary, to be discussed in detail during the application process based on experience, availability, and trial performance.
If you're detail-oriented, visually minded, quick to communicate, and excited to help bring powerful documentary stories to life through the right visuals, I'd love to hear from you!
