JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strategic and business-minded Virtual CIO (vCIO) to serve as a high-level advisor for our diverse portfolio of business clients. In this role, you will act as an extension of our clients' executive teams, bridging the gap between their business goals and their technology infrastructure.

As a vCIO, you are not just a technical expert; you are a strategic partner. You will be responsible for developing long-term IT roadmaps, managing technology budgets, overseeing risk and compliance, and ensuring that every technical investment our clients make drives measurable business value. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Managed Services (MSP), excellent consultative skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies.

Key Responsibilities
*Strategic IT Roadmapping & Planning
- Conduct regular Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) with clients to align technology with their 1–3 year business goals.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive IT roadmaps, including hardware lifecycle management, cloud migrations, and
security enhancements.
- Identify emerging technologies that can provide a competitive advantage or operational efficiency for specific client
verticals.
*Budgeting & Financial Management
- Assist clients in developing and managing annual IT budgets.
- Provide Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for new technology investments.
- Help clients prioritize IT spending based on risk, ROI, and business impact.
*Risk, Security & Compliance
- Oversee client security postures, ensuring alignment with frameworks like NIST, CIS, or industry-specific regulations
(HIPAA, PCI, SOC2).
- Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) planning and testing.
- Act as a high-level advisor during security i ---------- or complex technical audits.
*Client Relationship & Account Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level stakeholders (CEOs, CFOs, Owners).
- Monitor client satisfaction and service delivery trends, working with the technical team to ensure high standards are met.
- Lead the technical onboarding of new high-value clients, setting the strategic foundation from day one.
*Vendor & Project Oversight
- Assist clients in evaluating and managing third-party technology vendors (ISPs, Line-of-Business software, etc.).
- Provide high-level oversight for major infrastructure projects to ensure they stay aligned with the strategic vision.

Qualifications
Required
- Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in IT leadership, senior systems engineering, or IT consulting (MSP experience is highly preferred).
- Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to develop long-term technology strategies that solve real-world business problems.
- Financial Literacy: Comfort managing budgets, performing ROI calculations, and discussing financial impact with executives.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional ability to present to "C-Suite" executives and translate "geek-speak" into "business-speak."
- Broad Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Cloud Infrastructure (Azure/AWS), Networking, and Cybersecurity frameworks.
- Consultative Approach: Strong ability to influence stakeholders and lead through consensus and expertise.

Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with ITIL frameworks or MSP-specific vCIO tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, or advanced Microsoft/Cloud certifications).
- Previous experience in a "Fractional CIO" or "Account Lead" role within a technical service organization.
