WFH WordPress Developer

Job description:
This is a 100% work from home remote position.
This is an independent contractor position working for a US company.
It is expected that you have your own computer and internet connection.
There is no guarantee of hours, this is at an as-needed basis.

Job Summary:
We’re seeking a WordPress PHP Developer to assist with troubleshooting complex site issues and building or maintaining custom plugins. In this role, you’ll work directly with the owner to understand project requirements and translate them into reliable, well-documented code that aligns with WordPress best practices.

You should be comfortable diving into both frontend and backend issues, debugging plugin conflicts, customizing themes, and extending WordPress functionality through custom development. Tasks may include plugin development from scratch, modifying existing plugins, resolving performance issues, and implementing third-party integrations as needed.

Strong attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities:
Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress plugins and themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Collaborate with project managers and end-users to gather and understand functional requirements for site features and plugin behavior.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress performance, plugin conflicts, and frontend/backend errors.
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress core updates, plugin standards, and development best practices, suggesting improvements where needed.
Integrate WordPress with third-party APIs and external services.
Work closely with other developers and tea ---------- mbers on broader site architecture and performance improvements.
Create and maintain documentation for custom code, plugin configurations, and development workflows.
