JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

You must have c2 English because the clips need captions and the comedian has a strong accent.

We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented video editor to join the team. You'll be responsible for turning live stand-up footage into viral-ready shorts, engaging medium-length clips, and polished long-form content. This is a fast-paced, high-ownership role where quality and communication matter as much as speed.

What You'll Be Editing
Shorts (under 3 minutes) for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, and Threads
Medium-length clips (3–10 minutes) for YouTube
Long-form content and specials for YouTube
Thumbnail variations and cover images for each video

Key Responsibilities
Editing & Clip Selection
Manually review raw stand-up footage and identify strong, self-contained clips with clear hooks and punchlines
Create multiple variations of each clip (different hooks, different lengths, natural vs. fast-paced styles)
Edit shorts to be tight: strong hook in the first 1-2 seconds, no filler, clean ending
Produce natural-cut versions (preferred) and fast-paced versions where needed for longer bits
Keep framing consistent — performer should be centred in frame at all times using position keyframes
Distinguish between crowd work/material and avoid clipping polished material (reserved for live specials)

Captions
Apply accurate captions using SRT files or transcription tools
Use Bebas Neue font, white text with black border as default
Use a different colour for crowd/other voices
Ensure punchlines are NOT spoiled — split caption lines so the punchline appears only when spoken
Review and correct transcription errors, especially for Northern Irish dialect and regional references

Thumbnails & Covers
Create thumbnail variations for YouTube (face big and bright, text prominent)
Design Instagram cover images for each clip
Produce at least 2-3 thumbnail variations per video for A/B testing
Use Photoshop; work from provided PSD templates and raw footage stills

Tracking & Organisation
Maintain and update the Google Sheets content tracker (clip name, format, platform, release date, status, cover links, ---------- review link)
Add all clips — including variations — to the tracker before EOD each day
Suggest relevant subreddits for each clip after editing is approved
Track viral content from reference comedians in a separate doc/sheet (max 30 mins/day)
Keep the SOP document updated as new processes are agreed

Communication
Send a Start of Day (SOD) update with planned tasks and working hours (UK time)
Send an End of Day (EOD) report with tasks completed, hours worked, and anything blocked
Be available to overlap with the VA (Mia) between 9–11am UK time for questions and handoffs
Use ClickUp for all tasks — do not rely on WhatsApp notes
Send clips to ---------- for review; apply comments before resubmitting

Must-Have Skills & Experience
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (including SRT caption import, position keyframing)
Photoshop skills for thumbnails and cover images
Strong understanding of what makes a short-form comedy clip work (hook, punchline, pacing)
Experience with ClickUp and Google Sheets
Excellent attention to detail — captions, framing, and audio must be accurate
Reliable communicator who sends updates without being chased
Able to handle low-audio footage with EQ adjustments

Nice to Have
Experience editing stand-up comedy or live performance content
Familiarity with comedians like Geoffrey Asmus, Stavros, Ian Bagg (reference style)
Experience managing social media posting via Buffer
Understanding of Reddit communities (r/standup, r/comedy, r/funny, niche subreddits)

Please put Milkshake as your subject line and use 7 apply points.

Schedule & Pay
Full-time: 40 hours/week
Preferred hours: morning Philippines time (overlapping with 9-11am UK)
Paid weekly via Wise
SOD and EOD updates required every working day
