JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Account Manager supports the Employee Benefits team in servicing employer clients and maintaining group benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans. This role assists Account Managers with the renewal process, market research, client communications, and administrative coordination to ensure clients receive timely and accurate service.

The position is designed to help the agency effectively manage a high volume of small and medium-sized employer groups. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow established procedures while also demonstrating initiative and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Account Manager supports Account Managers in servicing employer clients by coordinating aspects of the annual renewal process, gathering information from insurance carriers, and organizing plan documentation. This role assists with preparing and distributing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to insurance carriers and collecting proposals from the marketplace.

The position also involves developing benefit comparison spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel and assisting with the analysis of plan options and costs. The Assistant Account Manager helps prepare employee benefit communication materials such as open enrollment guides, benefit summaries, and other educational resources for employees.

The role requires regular use of technology platforms, including benefit administration systems such as Employee Navigator and CRM systems used to manage client workflows, tasks, and documentation.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. One to three years of administrative, insurance, or client service experience is preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

Successful candidates will have strong organizational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in an employee benefits brokerage or familiarity with group health insurance and benefit administration platforms is a plus.
