JOB OVERVIEW

WHAT FITBRAND IS
FitBrand is a monthly marketing subscription for small gym owners, personal trainers, and boutique fitness studios. Each month, subscribers receive a content system: a social media calendar, caption copy, and Canva templates they can customize and post themselves.

The templates are the product. Gym owners receive them, swap in their logo, brand colors, and photos, and post. Every template you build needs to look professional but be simple enough that a non-designer can edit without breaking anything.

PHASE 1 — BUILD THE TEMPLATE LIBRARY

Your first job is building a library of 30–50 Canva templates across three visual style directions. Each style targets a different gym audience type. You will receive a brief for each template specifying the post type, style, and purpose.

• STYLE 1: CLEAN & CONTEMPORARY
• STYLE 2: BOLD & EDGY
• STYLE 3: WARM COMMUNITY
• Target: Wellness-forward, middle-of-the-road members and the social crowd
• Target: Fire breathers, CrossFit, HYROX, hardcore athletes
• Target: Beginners, nervous starters, community-motivated members
• Light or white backgrounds, modern sans-serif fonts, minimal and breathable layouts
• Dark backgrounds — black, charcoal, deep navy. High contrast, aggressive typography
• Warm earthy tones, approachable photography-forward layouts, inviting energy
• Works across a wide range of gym brands with minimal effort to customize
• Bold and striking — looks premium even with minimal customization
• Soft and welcoming — built for gyms whose members aren’t all hardcore athletes

Template Types (mixed across all 3 styles):
• Generic motivational / quote posts
• Tip of the Week
• Testimonial / member spotlight
• Promotion or offer announcement
• Class or schedule highlight
• Community or culture post
• Challenge or event post
• Coach or team spotlight
• Seasonal and holiday posts — added in later phases

ONGOING WORK — AFTER PHASE 1

Once the core library is built, work continues monthly and expands into new formats:

• New template additions each month based on themes, seasons, and upcoming holidays
• Holiday and fitness event templates (New Year, Valentine’s Day, CrossFit Open, Murph, etc.)
• Flyers and event posters in letter and tabloid sizes
• Printable in-gym signage and promotional sheets
• Custom branded work if we launch higher-tier subscriber packages

This is meant to be a long-term working relationship. We’re building a real product and want a designer who grows with it.

CANVA & ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
This is non-negotiable: all design work happens inside our Canva account. You will be invited as an editor with folder-level access. You do not design in your own account and transfer files to us.

This protects our intellectual property and keeps the library organized in one place. I

You must know how to:
• Build clean, editable Canva templates with proper placeholder structure (colors, fonts, logos, photos)
• Set up templates so non-designers can customize them without breaking the layout
• Use Canva’s folder organization and template sharing features
• Size correctly for Instagram feed posts, stories, and Facebook

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Fitness knowledge matters as much as design skill. Our templates need to feel like they were made by someone who actually understands gym culture — not someone who found stock photos of dumbbells.

Strong fit if you:
• Are highly proficient in Canva — it is your primary design tool
• Understand American gym and fitness culture (CrossFit, boutique gyms, group fitness, personal training)
• Get the difference between a hardcore athlete, a group fitness regular, and a nervous first-timer — and can design for each
• Have a clean, modern design sensibility but can shift to bold and edgy when the brief calls for it
• Work independently from a brief without needing hand-holding
• Communicate clearly and flag problems early

Bonus if you:
• Have designed for fitness brands, gyms, or wellness businesses before
• Personally train, coach, or have a strong connection to fitness culture
• Have built template libraries or design systems before

HOW TO APPLY

Please include:
• 2–3 relevant design samples (fitness preferred — any social media template work is fine)
• A brief note on your fitness knowledge or personal connection to the industry
• Confirmation you are comfortable working inside our Canva account
• Your rate and an estimated timeline to complete a 30–50 template Phase 1 build

We look forward to working with you!
