This role is exciting because your work will directly impact revenue. You will not just edit videos. You will craft high-performing direct response ads that drive measurable results. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled Video Editor with strong experience in direct response advertising. You will be responsible for producing engaging, scroll-stopping ad creatives for paid media campaigns across platforms such as
You must understand ad hooks, retention strategies, pacing for performance, and how to edit for conversions, not just aesthetics.
This role will start at approximately 15 hours per week, with the expectation of scaling up to full-time hours within the next six months as the company continues to grow and creative production increases. Applicants should be open to expanding their availability as the role evolves.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit high-converting direct response video ads for paid social campaigns
- Create multiple ad variations for A/B testing
- Add captions, motion graphics, and dynamic text overlays
- Cut and optimize footage for strong hooks within the first 3 seconds
- Repurpose long-form content into short-form performance ads
- Sync video pacing with script messaging and brand voice
- Incorporate feedback quickly and iterate based on performance data
- Organize and manage raw footage, assets, and project files
- Collaborate with media buyers and copywriters to align creative with campaign strategy
DAILY AND WEEKLY TASKS
Daily:
- Edit 1 to 3 short-form direct response ads
- Review scripts and apply structured hook, problem, solution, offer framework
- Export and format creatives for different platforms
- Communicate progress updates
Weekly:
- Produce multiple ad variations for testing
- Optimize top-performing creatives
- Attend brief strategy discussions
- Organize project folders and maintain clean file systems
REQUIRED TOOLS AND PLATFORMS
You must be proficient in most of the following:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- After Effects
- CapCut or similar short-form editing tools
- Canva for quick graphic overlays
- Google Drive
- Slack
- Asana
- Meta Ads Manager familiarity is a plus
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in editing direct response video advertisements for eCommerce brands, with a strong portfolio showcasing performance-driven creatives
- Solid understanding of conversion-focused editing principles, including hook development, audience retention techniques, pacing optimization, and clear call-to-action integration
- Proven ability to structure ads using established direct response frameworks such as hook, problem, solution, proof, and offer
- Experience producing UGC-style creatives tailored for paid social platforms including
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with the ability to incorporate motion graphics, dynamic text overlays, and performance-oriented visual elements
- Strong understanding of platform-specific best practices, including aspect ratios, formatting requirements, and audience behavior trends
- Ability to interpret creative briefs, scripts, and performance feedback to iterate and optimize content efficiently
- Strong storytelling skills with attention to detail in audio, visuals, subtitles, and overall viewer experience
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to ensure clear collaboration with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and adherence to deadlines
