JOB OVERVIEW

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patient Accounts Specialist to support our revenue and insurance operations. This role manages day-to-day billing, claims, and insurance processes to ensure timely payments and smooth operations. It’s ideal for someone highly organized, attentive to detail, and motivated by supporting the financial health of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support internal audits, including reviewing pending invoices, inactive credit cards, and outstanding claims.
- Follow up on pending, rejected, and denied claims to help resolve issues promptly.
- Process EOBs and invoices, ensuring timely follow-up as needed.
- Verify that patients with upcoming appointments have active insurance.
- Collaborate closely with the Insurance Coordinator to support insurance verification.
- Call patients with invoices over one month past due and follow up as needed.
- Escalate complex cases to the Credentialing & Revenue Cycle Lead for payment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of claims, invoices, and payments.
- Assist with entering and reconciling insurance and patient payments in the system.
- Track trends in claims denials or delays and communicate findings to the Revenue Cycle Lead for process improvement.
- Support other revenue-related administrative tasks as needed, including documentation and coordination with providers or external insurance representatives.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare revenue operations, billing, or insurance verification preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow processes accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with claims processes and follow-ups is a plus.
