ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are A Couple & A Dream, a U.S.-based construction and renovation company operating in Florida.
We specialize in residential renovations, painting, handyman services, interior design, and project-based construction work.
Our financial system is structured and disciplined. We use:
QuickBooks Online (Accrual method)
JobTread (construction management software)
Job costing
Profit First cash management system
Multi-bank account structure
We are looking for a serious, detail-oriented accounting professional who understands construction accounting and software integration.
This is not a CFO role.
This is an execution-focused accounting systems role.
ROLE OVERVIEW
You will be responsible for maintaining clean, accurate financial data between QuickBooks and JobTread.
Your job is to ensure all financial information is organized, reconciled, and reliable so ownership can make strategic decisions.
You are responsible for execution and accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
QuickBooks Responsibilities:
Weekly transaction review and classification
Accurate separation of COGS and OPEX
Proper recording of Transfers (not misclassified as expenses)
1099 subcontractor tracking
Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts
Generate required financial reports:
Profit & Loss
Profit & Loss by Service
Balance Sheet
Statement of Cash Flows
JobTread Responsibilities:
Ensure proper cost coding within projects
Validate that bills and invoices sync correctly to QuickBooks
Review subcontractor bills and job costs
Prevent duplicate entries between systems
Verify that job costing in QuickBooks matches JobTread data
Profit First Execution:
Execute weekly fund allocations based on provided percentages
Record all internal transfers correctly in QuickBooks
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (U.S. version)
Experience with construction accounting
Clear understanding of job costing
Experience working with construction management software (JobTread, Buildertrend, JobNimbus, or similar)
Experience reconciling multiple bank accounts
Strong understanding of:
COGS vs OPEX
Transfer vs Expense
Accrual accounting
Experience managing 1099 subcontractors
Strong written English
High attention to detail
WORK STRUCTURE
Part-time role
Expected workload: approximately 15–20 hours per week (based on efficiency)
$300 per month flat rate
Long-term opportunity if performance is strong
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Full monthly payment is conditional upon:
All accounts reconciled by the 5th of each month
Zero major classification errors
Weekly financial snapshot delivered on time
Accurate QuickBooks–JobTread alignment
Proper execution of Profit First allocations
Failure to meet performance standards may result in proportional compensation adjustment.
