Finance Assistant – UK Property Development
Remote Freelance VA
$5 per hour | 2 Hours Per Week | Long-Term Role

About Us
We are hiring for a UK-based property development company focused on buying, refurbishing, and selling properties. We also manage rental properties.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

This is a long-term remote position with increasing hours as we grow.

Role Overview
This role focuses on operational finance tasks, including:
• Transaction classification
• Invoice logging
• Expense tracking
• Contractor payments
• Rent tracking
• Investor interest tracking

You will work closely with the Bookkeeper, who handles reconciliations and financial oversight.

Core Responsibilities
Expense & Transaction Processing
• Upload receipts to Xero
• Assign transactions to correct property projects
• Record supplier invoices

Invoice & Payment Management
• Log invoices
• Submit for approval
• Prepare payments
• Issue invoices when required

Property Accounting
• Record completion statements in Xero
• Allocate costs to correct projects
• Track refurbishment spend

Rental & Managing Agent Payments
• Record gross rent correctly
• Separate managing agent fees
• Allocate maintenance costs

Investor & Loan Tracking
• Track investor repayments
• Record interest schedules
• Prepare simple interest summaries

There may also be some general admin and assitant work required as the role develops.

What This Role Does NOT Include

This role does NOT include:
• Bank reconciliations
• Capitalisation decisions
• Depreciation
• Year-end accounting
• Tax filings
These are handled by the Bookkeeper.

Requirements
• Minimum 2–3 years of finance or bookkeeping experience
• Strong Xero experience (essential)
• High attention to detail
• Comfortable working with UK businesses
• Strong English communication skills
• Able to manage urgent tasks and changing workload

Property sector experience is beneficial but not required.
