Our company, Evergreen Strategic LLC, has an opening for a PHP programming job. This job would be a contract position for a specific task. The job would consist of the following tasks:
• Conducting research on one or two internet websites
• Successfully identifying where the site is not functioning correctly
• Evaluating tracking software that uses PHP redirects by finding AND fixing vulnerabilities in the software.
• Suggesting ideas and solutions that enhance the security of the website
• Documenting your progress and creating a report to explain to us your findings in terms we can understand.
• Bidding the amount you want to be paid for this job
• Estimating the amount of time it will take to complete
This job requires specific skills including PHP and HTML coding and programming. It will require critical and investigative thinking to solve problems. The main objective of this job is to solve a problem.
Previous experience in PHP programming is essential. Your skill level in this area must be above average and we require a minimum of 3 years experience. More experience is certainly a plus.
In summary, this is our need and what we will have you solve:
Our website (written in HTML and PHP code) has been “hijacked” by someone who is stealing our clicks and/or links. We are not sure how this is happening but we believe it has something to do with a vulnerability in our site, in our tracking software and/or through toolbars that are installed on a user’s browser. Basically, when someone clicks on our link, our tracking software correctly shows that the link has been clicked on, but somehow the traffic gets redirected somewhere else and we are not credited the sale. We believe someone has purposely and maliciously changed our links and redirects.
We use Tracking202 (part of the Prosper202 system) as our tracking software. Tracking202 is based on redirects and mostly written in PHP. This is a free, self-hosted software that is open source. There are known vulnerabilities to this software. If you need more explanation of this software, you can find lots of information on Google or just download the software and test it for yourself.
Using your PHP programming skills, you will discover where the problem is and help us find a solution to it. It may require additional code and script writing. We are looking for more than just an evaluation or finding of the problem. We need you to help us create a solution. Be sure to keep this in mind during the entire process.
Full explanation of your task will be provided soon after hire. It will consist of emails, Skype conversations or Skype chat and maybe videos.
Based on your bid, you will be paid the amount we agree upon. Think carefully about how long this task will take and how much it is worth. Please be sure to include a bid price (in Filipino pesos) in your application email.
Although this position is a short term project, it could lead to further job opportunities within our company.
Please submit your resume, a price bid (in Filipino pesos) for the job and any additional information about you and your skill set to the email address provided. We will base our choice on skill level, previous experience, and bid price.
Currently our company employs one full-time and one part-time Filipino employee. We are an American company and we understand working with oversees employees and are aware of the advantages and challenges it brings. We are very pleased to work with Filipinos and are excited about offering this contract job.
We will contact you to begin the interviewing process, which will include a bank of questions and possibly a live interview.
Thank you and good luck!
