Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QuickBooks Online bookkeeper to handle monthly transaction coding, reconciliations, and financial preparation.
You will work directly with the firm owner to develop and follow documented SOPs and checklists.
This is not a temporary gig — we are looking for a long-term tea
Responsibilities
• Categorize and code transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
• Assist with chart of accounts setup and cleanup
• Maintain organized financial records
• Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reports
• Flag unusual or unclear transactions
• Follow structured monthly close checklist
• Record Loom updates when requested
• Send payroll to the payroll specialist
• Possible State Sales Tax Submission
Requirements
• 2+ years experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong reconciliation experience
• Experience handling U.S.-based clients
• Strong written English
• High attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently
• Stable internet connection
• Available during at least 2 hours of U.S. business overlap weekly
Preferred but not required:
• Payroll experience (Gusto, ADP, or similar)
• Experience working with multiple entities
• Accounting or bookkeeping certification
What Success Looks Like
• Books reconciled by the 8th of each month
• Clean financial reports
• Minimal uncategorized transactions
• Proactive communication
• Long-term consistency
