Video Editor — Effects + Full Edits (DaVinci Resolve or Premiere/Aftereffect)

Looking for an editor to create engaging shortform content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) from surf and travel footage. You'll be working with cinematic footage or just lifestyle footage .You can either create a cinematic video that focuses on clear type hierarchy, or a story driven video that uses lots of sound cues and effects. I’ve attached examples of both styles, and you will choose one of these styles for your video. ONLY APPLY if you can actually produce any of these ----------

Someone who understands type hierarchy + sound cue
Responsibilities:
* Edit raw footage into 30-90 second vertical videos
* Add captions, text overlays, and trending audio
* Match my existing aesthetic (cinematic, clean, story-driven)
* Quick turnaround (2-3 days per video)
Ideal if you have experience with travel/surf content and understand YouTube Shorts + Instagram algorithm trends.

TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE:
1. A link to 3 short-form videos you edited that show your EFFECTS work (stickers, animations, sound design — not just cuts and transitions)
2. Which software you use (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve)
3. How long it typically takes you to add effects to one 60 to 90 second video
4. How long it typically takes you to do a full edit of a 60 to 90 second video from raw footage
5. Your timezone and weekly availability
6. Your honest assessment — are you stronger at effects/motion graphics, sound design, full editing, or equally?
This is long-term, consistent weekly work. I pay on time every week via the platform.


Details:
Our company is based in (PST timezone) looking for a skilled short-form video editor. This is ongoing weekly work — consistent schedule, consistent pay.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF ASSIGNMENTS:
Type A — Effects Only (most common): I send you a finished rough-cut MP4 (1 to 1.5 minutes). Your job is to add effects ON TOP of my edit. You are welcome to trim or re-cut sections if it improves pacing for the effects you're adding.
Type B — Full Edit (occasional): I send you raw footage and a script/notes. You do the full edit from scratch — cuts, pacing, effects, sound design, everything.
Both types are paid hourly at $6/hour. Effects-only videos typically take 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Full edits typically take 3 to 5 hours. I track hours through the platform.
WHAT YOU'LL ADD TO EACH VIDEO:
* Animated stickers, GIFs, emoji reactions, and text that appear every 2 to 3 seconds to keep viewers engaged
* Custom mini-animations (Example: a cartoon emoji of my head moving across an animated map from city A to city B)
* Sound effects that match the energy of each ---------- nt (whooshes, pops, dings, boings, scary soundetc.)
* Occasional zoom-ins, shake effects, split-screen, and dynamic transitions
* You do NOT add commercial background music — I handle that myself
WHAT YOU SEND BACK:
For every video, you upload to our shared dropbox folder:
1. The project file (.prproj for Premiere or .drp for DaVinci Resolve)
2. A media folder with ALL assets you used (GIFs, stickers, PNGs, sound effect files)
3. An exported MP4 preview draft
I then open your project file, do my final pass (tweak timing, adjust effects, add music if needed), and export the final version myself.
REQUIREMENT: You MUST use either Adobe Premiere Pro + After Effects, OR DaVinci Resolve + Fusion. We need to work in the same software so I can open and edit your timeline directly.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE AND TURNAROUND:
I upload 5 videos every Friday (PST). In Manila time, you will see the files Saturday morning.
Your deadline: Wednesday 6 PM Manila time (all 5 videos delivered). That gives you Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday — 5 full days.
Deliver each video rolling as you finish it (don't hold all 5 until Wednesday). This way I can start reviewing early.
You are completely free from my work Thursday and Friday every week. You can take other clients those days.
COMMUNICATION:
All deadlines are in Manila time so there is no confusion. I will leave notes for each video in a shared Google Doc or in the dropbox folder. If you have questions, message me — I typically reply within a few hours during California business hours (which is your late evening / early morning).
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
* Strong portfolio showing effects and motion graphics/sound design work on short-form content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts style) — not just basic cuts
* Owns and is proficient in DaVinci Resolve + Fusion or Premiere Pro + After Effects
* Reliable internet for uploading and downloading project files via dropbox
* Can commit to this weekly schedule consistently
* Responsive communication
* Creative ,you suggest effects and ideas, not just wait for instructions
