We are looking for an experienced and organised Crime News Editor to lead our crime desk. This role involves managing daily output, overseeing coverage of real-life crime stories, and ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency across all published content. The editor will manage a team of up to 10 writers and 2 copy editors.
Work Schedule:
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Philippine time)
Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and assign daily workloads to writers and copy editors
Oversee coverage of violent crime, cybercrime, financial crime, fraud, court cases, and international i
Edit, fact-check, and approve articles for publication
Ensure writers meet daily output and quality standards
Maintain headline quality, sourcing accuracy, and legal awareness
Coordinate with copy editors and publishing staff
Provide feedback and guidance to improve team performance
Requirements:
Strong English editing and writing skills
Experience editing or managing news or crime-related content
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tea
Strong understanding of research, sourcing, and fact-checking
Familiarity with legal risks in crime reporting
Experience with online publishing and newsroom workflows preferred
