Senior Business Analyst - Crypto/Fintech Platform

We are building an institutional-grade crypto & market intelligence platform combining:
• CIO-style investment research & alerts
• Portfolio intelligence & monitoring
• Modular SaaS subscriptions (Free, Essential, Pro, Elite AI)
We are transitioning from founder-written BRDs to developer-executable specifications and are looking for a strong Business Analyst to bridge this gap.
Our current BRDs clearly describe what we want to build, but not always how developers should build it.
Your mission is to:
• Convert strategy, product vision, and CIO logic into
• Clear, unambiguous, build-ready requirements that engineers can execute without guesswork
You will work closely with:
• Founder / Product Owner, Head of Technology, Frontend & Backend Developers

Key Responsibilities
1. BRD ? Developer-Ready Translation
• Decompose high-level BRDs into:
o Functional Requirements (FRs)
o Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)
o Edge cases & constraints
• Remove ambiguity and assumptions from requirements
2. Functional Specifications & User Stories
• Write clear user stories with:
o Actors
o Preconditions
o Main flows
o Alternate / exception flows
• Define acceptance criteria that are testable
3. Data & Logic Definition
• Specify:
o Data inputs (APIs, internal DB, calculations)
o Output formats (tables, charts, alerts)
o Refresh frequency & timing logic
• Define portfolio logic:
o Price snapshots
o PnL calculations
o Options & derivatives handling
o Risk flags & disclosures
4. UI / UX Logic Support (Not Design)
• Clarify what the UI must do, not how it looks:
o Filters
o Sorting
o State changes
o Empty / error states
• Work with UI developers to ensure functional completeness
5. Alignment & Clarification
• Act as the single source of truth for requirements
• Answer developer questions and close gaps quickly
• Prevent rework caused by unclear specs
Required Experience & Skills (Non-Negotiable)
Core Experience
• 5+ years as a Business Analyst in:
o Fintech
o Trading platforms
o Wealth management systems
o Market data or analytics platforms
• Proven experience producing developer-ready specs, not just high-level BRDs
Domain Knowledge (Must Have)
• Financial instruments:
o Equities, ETFs
o Crypto assets
o Options / derivatives (basic to intermediate)
• Understanding of:
o Market prices
o PnL logic
o Risk & disclosures
o Portfolio tracking concepts
Technical Literacy (You don’t code, but…)
• Comfortable working with:
o APIs & data feeds
o Databases (tables, fields, relationships)
o Basic system flows & architectures
• Able to speak fluently with engineers
Documentation Quality
• Writes:
o Structured
o Precise
o Unambiguous
• Knows the difference between:
o “Business intent”
o “Functional requirement”
o “Acceptance criteria”
Nice to Have (Strong Plus)
• Experience with:
o SaaS subscription models
o Role-based access / paywalls
o Financial dashboards
• Prior work with:
o Startups or founder-led teams
o Incomplete or evolving requirements
• Familiarity with Agile / sprint-based delivery
