JOB OVERVIEW

We are a Sydney-based Australian property, real estate, and finance business seeking a reliable and detail-driven Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a range of practical legal matters.

This role involves assisting with day-to-day legal work across property, tenancy, contract, and dispute matters. You will help prepare documents for NCAT and the Local Court, as well as assist with lease documentation and sales-related agreements.

This is not a theoretical or academic role. You will be working with real matters, real deadlines, and real consequences. Precision, structure, and professionalism are essential.

SCOPE OF WORK

You will assist with basic legal matters, including but not limited to:

Residential tenancy matters (leases, notices, breaches, disputes)

Disputes with contractors and third parties

NCAT and Local Court preparation support

Drafting and organising documents in the format required by courts and tribunals

Preparing document bundles (indexed, paginated, compliant)

Drafting and reviewing leases and sales-related agreements

Reviewing contracts, notices, and legal correspondence

Legal research and summarising findings clearly

Managing deadlines, follow-ups, and case file organisation

You will not be providing legal advice. Your role is support, preparation, structure, and execution.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Strong written English with professional legal formatting

Hands-on experience preparing legal documents

High attention to detail and document accuracy

Ability to follow instructions exactly and meet deadlines

Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive material

HIGHLY REGARDED

Experience with property law, tenancy, or real estate matters

Experience assisting with NCAT, Local Court, or tribunal-style matters

Familiarity with Australian or common-law legal systems

Law degree, JD, or currently studying law (with practical exposure)

WORK CONDITIONS

Remote role supporting a Sydney (Australia) based business

Part-time to Full-time (initially 4–6 hours/day, with scope to increase)
