Accent Research & Course Content Assistant (Actor-Focused)
I’m looking for a highly detail-oriented assistant to help me create original, actor-facing accent training material.
This role is practical, sound-led, and performance-focused. You will be creating material from scratch, which I will then review, refine, and finalise.
This is not an academic linguistics role and not generic content writing.

What the role involves
Researching accents carefully using multiple sources
Creating original accent-training material for actors
Breaking accents down into:
sounds
mouth shape and placement
rhythm and musicality
practice words and short sentences
Writing clearly for actors with no assumed linguistic knowledge
Delivering your best possible draft, which I will then check and refine

Use of AI tools (important)
AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) may be used to support thinking or drafting, but:
Content must not be copied or pasted from AI outputs

Information must be cross-referenced and checked
You must understand and be able to explain anything you include
Submissions should show human judgement and structure

If your process is “generate ? paste ? submit”, this role is not suitable.

About IPA
IPA may be included only if:
It is explained clearly
It is optional, not required

The material still works for someone who has never learned IPA
IPA should support practical training, not replace it
What I’m looking for
Excellent written English
Very strong attention to detail
Ability to structure information from scratch
Careful, disciplined research habits
Willingness to ask questions rather than guess
Accuracy matters more than speed
Interest in acting, voice, or performance is a bonus

You do not need to be an accent coach.
You do need to think like someone creating training material for performers.

Trial & application task (required)

Hours & pay
5–10 hours per week to start
Rate discussed after reviewing applications
Long-term work available for the right person
