We're looking for a reliable Virtual Night Dispatcher/Coordinator to support our FedEx linehaul operations during overnight hours. This is a remote/virtual assistant role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes environment ensuring freight moves efficiently between hubs and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
-Monitor and coordinate linehaul transportation equipment dispatch according to daily/weekly plans and schedules
-Track trailers, drivers, and shipments in real-time during night operations
-Communicate with drivers, hub managers, contractors, and internal teams via phone,
-Handle updates on delays, equipment issues, breakdowns, or schedule changes and escalate when needed
-Maximize trailer volume and load efficiency while meeting FedEx package delivery timelines
-Enter and update trip details, arrival times, and status reports in transportation management systems (TMS)
-Respond to urgent overnight inquiries and ensure smooth handoff to day shift teams
-Maintain accurate records of linehaul activities, incidents, and performance metrics
-Assist with basic reporting and compliance checks related to linehaul rules and procedures
Requirements: Fluent English (spoken and written) – a must for clear communication with drivers and teams
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure
Comfortable working independently during night shifts (typically overnight hours, e.g., 8 PM – 6 AM Central Standard Time or similar, depending on your time zone and business needs)
Reliable high-speed internet, quiet workspace, and personal computer/headset
Previous experience in logistics, trucking, dispatching, transportation coordination, or virtual assistance is a big plus (FedEx / linehaul / Over the road trucking background highly preferred)
Familiarity with TMS software, Excel, Outlook, or similar tools is advantageous
Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver
