Position summary *** EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED***
Responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing external funding and contract opportunities (grants, bids, RFPs, RFQs, procurements) to support organizational programs and projects. Manages the full lifecycle from opportunity research and application development to submission, compliance tracking, and post-award administration.
Key responsibilities
- Research and identification
- Monitor federal, state, local, foundation, corporate, and private funding sources and procurement portals for relevant opportunities.
- Maintain an opportunities pipeline and calendar of deadlines and milestones.
- Opportunity assessment
- Screen opportunities for fit with organizational strategy, eligibility, budget, and capacity.
- Produce go/no-go recommendation briefs for leadership.
- Proposal and bid development
- Lead or coordinate proposal, bid, and procurement responses including writing, budgeting, scheduling, and compilation.
- Draft technical narratives, program descriptions, scopes of work, and cost proposals.
- Ensure applications meet funder/procurement specifications, formatting, and submission requirements.
- Budgeting and financials
- Prepare proposal budgets, cost justifications, and cash-flow projections with finance input.
- Ensure budget compliance with funder procurement and allowable-cost rules.
- Compliance and contract management
- Track reporting, deliverables, procurement requirements, and contract conditions post-award.
- Coordinate internal teams (program, finance, legal) to ensure compliance and timely reporting.
- Relationship management
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, procurement officers, partners, and subcontractors.
- Manage letters of support, subrecipient agreements, and partner deliverables.
- Process improvement and documentation
- Maintain templates, SOPs, and a centralized repository for proposals, contracts, and grant records.
- Train staff on funding opportunities, proposal requirements, and procurement best practices.
- Performance tracking and reporting
- Maintain metrics on submission success rates, revenue secured, pipeline health, and compliance status.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership and board as needed.
