Video Editor who Can Cut Longform and Shortform with captions, hooks, and Virality

I am looking for a video editor who can take rough, raw footage and turn it into polished content that actually performs. I record in a room with less-than-ideal acoustics, often with multiple sources—me on camera, screen recordings, and audio that needs some serious help. There will also be client videos that are also shot in less than ideal situations that need to be edited. I need someone who can clean all of that up, add a consistent virtual background to make it look professional, and deliver content that people actually want to watch.

This role is about more than just cutting clips together. I need an editor who understands pacing, storytelling, and how to keep viewers engaged whether it's a 30-second short or a 30-minute long-form video. You should be comfortable editing for multiple platforms—YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter/X—and know the specific requirements and best practices for each one. If you have experience not just editing but also posting content and understand what makes videos go viral or at least perform well, that's a huge plus.

Here's what I'm looking for specifically:
Expert-level video editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
Audio cleanup and enhancement—making bad room audio sound professional
Experience with virtual backgrounds and green screen work (or creating convincing virtual backgrounds without green screen)
Color correction and grading to maintain consistent visual quality
Ability to edit both long-form content (10-60 minutes) and short-form content (45-180 seconds)
Understanding of platform-specific requirements (aspect ratios, captions, thumbnails, etc.)
Knowledge of what makes content engaging and shareable across social platforms
Bonus: Experience with content strategy, posting schedules, and what drives engagement

I need someone who can take creative direction but also bring their own ideas to the table. If you see something that could be cut tighter, a transition that would work better, or a way to make the content more engaging, I want you to speak up. I'm not looking for someone who just follows instructions blindly—I want a collaborator who cares about the final product.
You should be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once. I'll be sending you raw footage regularly, and I need to trust that you'll deliver edited content on time without me having to micromanage every step. This will be unpaid work, but it's the only way for me to see your editing style, attention to detail, and ability to improve rough content. I need to know you can actually deliver what you're promising before we start working together.

This is a part-time position, and I need someone available from 1pm to 6pm Spain (Madrid) time (GMT+1), Monday through Friday. I'm currently based in Spain, so working on Spain time is important for collaboration and quick turnarounds. However, all pay will be tracked and calculated based on California time (GMT -8) for consistency with my other tea ---------- mbers. I pay twice a month via Wise—on the 1st and 16th. The payment on the 16th covers work from the 1st-15th, and the payment on the 1st covers the 16th through the end of the month.
