Vehicle Buying Analyst (Auto Auctions – Remote)

Job Description

We are a U.S.-based automotive business that buys vehicles from Copart and IAA.

This role is analysis only.
You will not bid, buy, negotiate, or contact vendors.

Your job is to scan auctions, analyze vehicles using strict rules, and prepare shortlists for final approval.

If you are detail-oriented, calm, and enjoy structured work, this is a long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

Scan Copart and IAA auctions daily

Identify vehicles that fit strict criteria

Review photos and visible damage

Pull basic market comps

Complete a standardized Buy Sheet per vehicle

Clearly flag risks (Low / Medium / High)

No purchasing

No pricing decisions

No vendor communication

No access to company finances

This is an analyst role, not a buyer role.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail

Comfortable with spreadsheets

Can follow rules exactly

Clear written English

Calm, logical communicator

Automotive experience is a plus but not required.

This role is not for people looking to learn bidding or start their own dealership.
