Part-Time to Full-Time Video Editor + Channel Manager

Start date: February 2
Schedule: ~20 hrs/week for February ? 40 hrs/week starting March
Pay: $7/hour to start (rate increase opportunities + performance bonuses)

What we’re building:

We’re launching a new short-form sports channel with a fast-paced, highly engaging edit style (YouTube Shorts/TikTok).
Important: This channel is SOCCER-focused to start. Over time, we may branch into NFL/NBA/college football—but the initial content is soccer.

The role (two phases)
Phase 1 — February (Part-Time, ~20 hrs/week)

Your focus is producing content while we warm up the channel:

Produce/Edit vertical shorts (9:16) with tight pacing + retention-focused cuts

Add captions/subtitles, clean text placement, and light polish (SFX/music as needed)

Deliver finished exports consistently and on schedule

Build an efficient workflow so output increases over time

Phase 2 — March onward (Full-Time, 40 hrs/week)

You take over the full content loop:

Continue editing (higher output as workflow gets faster)

Posting + scheduling Shorts (YouTube + TikTok)

Community engagement: reply to comments, interact with viewers, keep a consistent voice

Track what’s working (basic analytics) and suggest improvements

Our editing workflow (high-level):

Most videos are built from sports podcast/interview ---------- nts, paired with B-roll overlays, captions, and music. We care a lot about clean formatting, fast pacing, and making the final video feel “native” to Shorts.

Important: We do not copy/repost other creators’ edited videos. If we see copied content or reused edits, it’s an immediate termination. We’re building original edits using our process and properly sourced assets.

Tools / collaboration:

We primarily use CapCut (preferred), but you can use any editor if you can match the style and deliver clean exports.

File delivery via Google Drive or Dropbox

Simple tracking via a shared sheet (or similar)

What we’re looking for:

1. Strong English proficiency (captions, text overlays, comment replies)

2. Proven short-form editing experience (Shorts/TikTok/Reels)

3. Ability to match reference videos exactly (pacing, captions, rhythm)

4. Reliable communication and consistency (volume + repeatable workflow matters)

Bonus points if you have:

- Soccer content experience (players/leagues/storylines)

- Experience posting/scheduling/managing YouTube Shorts or TikTok

- Familiarity with copyright-safe sourcing and platform rules

Paid test edit (required):

Shortlisted applicants will do a small paid test: 2–3 short videos to confirm style match, captions quality, and pacing. You’ll be paid for your time.

Compensation & growth:

- $7/hour starting rate

- Opportunities to increase rate as output + responsibility grows

- Performance bonuses tied to channel growth/consistency (details shared during hiring)
