Video Editor for Social Media Reels

NOTE: Applications without relevant short-form examples will not be reviewed.

I’m looking for a high-skill video editor to help me turn existing long-form videos (talks, workshops, podcasts) into short, powerful reels for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

This is not basic trimming. I need someone who understands storytelling, pacing, hooks, retention, and how to build a reel that feels tight, modern, and scroll-stopping.

Core responsibilities
- Create 15–60 second reels with strong storytelling arcs (hook ? tension ? payoff)
- Select the best ---------- nts and build a narrative (not just chop clips)
- Add captions/subtitles (clean, readable, high-retention style)
- Add light motion graphics where needed (emphasis words, punch-ins, b-roll inserts if available)
- Sound cleanup + leveling, remove filler words when helpful
- Deliver in platform-ready formats (9:16, correct file names, organized exports)
- Iterate quickly based on feedback and performance

Required skills
- Proven experience editing short-form viral/high-performing reels
- Strong storytelling instincts and taste
- Fluent with Premiere Pro / Final Cut / DaVinci (CapCut acceptable only if your output is pro-level)
- Strong English comprehension (so you can choose the best lines and structure the message)
- Reliable communication + consistent turnaround
