Virtual Assistant – Video Editing & Content Creation
Australian Education Company (Long-Term Role)
We are a growing Australian education company looking for a highly capable Virtual Assistant focused on video editing and content creation. This is a long-term role for someone who understands how content actually builds trust, attention, and demand over time, not just how to edit videos.
You will be responsible for editing short-form content such as Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts, as well as long-form YouTube videos. You will also create static content including carousels, posts, and stories. Beyond execution, you are expected to help develop and refine a social media strategy designed to grow our following consistently and meaningfully over time.
This role requires strong creative judgment. You should understand hooks, pacing, captions, thumbnails, and how content performs differently across platforms. You should be able to repurpose one long-form video into multiple short-form assets and explain why each version exists. You will be expected to review performance and suggest improvements rather than wait for instructions.
Strong written English is essential. You must be able to write clear, natural captions and communicate ideas without sounding scripted or artificial. We value authenticity over perfection. If your writing sounds like AI, it will be obvious and your application will not be considered.
You should be comfortable using tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar video editing software, and Canva or similar tools for static content. Prior experience growing or contributing to a social media account is a strong advantage.
This role will start part-time, with the opportunity for increased hours over time. We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position and is interested in growing with the company, not someone looking for quick freelance work.
As part of your application, answer the following question in your own words. Do not overthink it and do not use AI. We are not looking for a perfect answer, we are looking for real understanding.
Alex Hormozi often talks about content and distribution in a way that most people misunderstand or apply poorly. What is one specific principle you’ve learned from him that you think most creators get wrong, and how would you apply it to an Australian education brand?
Please also include your hourly rate, weekly availability, and links to any relevant work or accounts you have contributed to.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
