SketchUp Construction Drafter / Building Designer (Residential Projects)

Pole barns

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented SketchUp drafter who understands construction, not just design. This is a long-term role for the right person.

????? Your Responsibilities

Create SketchUp drawings based on:

Sketches

Redlines

Photos

Written instructions

Produce:

Dimensioned floor plans

Basic elevations

Roof layouts

Simple sections (when required)

Prepare material takeoffs, including:

Lumber and posts

Roofing and siding square footage

Doors and windows

Basic concrete quantities

Make revisions based on feedback

Follow provided templates and standards exactly

Engineering or structural calculations

Building code decisions

Customer communication

Design authority

You will focus on accurate drawings and takeoffs only.

? Required Skills

Strong SketchUp experience (construction-focused)

Basic knowledge of residential construction
(stud spacing, roof framing, pole/post systems)

High attention to detail

Ability to follow video and written instructions

? Nice to Have (Not Required)

Experience with barndominiums or pole barns

Chief Architect experience

Previous U.S. residential construction work
