We are a small accounting and bookkeeping firm based in Washington State, providing bookkeeping, payroll support, and small business consulting to local small businesses. We’re hiring a full-time Bookkeeper/Accountant who can work independently, communicate clearly with clients, and maintain high accuracy.
Role Type / Schedule / Accountability
* Full-time: 40 hours/week
* Required schedule: 8:00am–5:00pm Pacific Time (PST/PT), Monday–Friday
* Must be available during work hours for:, calls (audio/video), live chat/text responses, screen sharing / quick collaboration
* Time tracking is mandatory via Hubstaff (screenshots/activity tracking enabled)
* You must be actively working at your computer during scheduled hours (no “offline batching” or delayed time logging)
* Compensation: hourly rate (paid based on Hubstaff tracked hours) up to 40 hours per week.
* Exclusive availability during scheduled hours: This is a dedicated full-time role during 8am–5pm PT. You may not perform other paid work, serve other clients, or have other ongoing commitments during these hours.
Responsibilities
* Perform day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
* Categorize transactions; reconcile bank/credit card accounts
* Assist with month-end close and reporting
* Support payroll processes; learn and follow Washington State-specific payroll requirements
* Help with state-specific filings and compliance-related tasks (training provided)
* Communicate with bookkeeping clients on behalf of the company
* Work inside our client collaboration platform: Double (formerly Keeper) (tasks, requests, messaging, document collection)
* Provide general administrative support as required (follow-ups, document handling, coordinating requests)
* Participate in training through webinars and self-study to learn WA requirements and firm processes
Requirements (Must-Have)
* Proven bookkeeping experience (minimum 2+ years; include portfolio/client examples if available)
* QuickBooks Online experience (minimum 2+ years)
* Experience working with US clients (required; must be able to communicate professionally and understand US business expectations)
* Excellent English (written and spoken)
* Strong computer skills; proficient with Excel/Google Sheets
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to follow processes/checklists
* Reliable internet + quiet workspace suitable for calls/video calls
* Willingness to use Hubstaff for time tracking during all working hours
* Willingness to maintain exclusive availability during 8am–5pm PT (no other work/clients/commitments)
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
* Experience with Double (formerly Keeper) (plus)
* QBO ProAdvisor certification
* Experience supporting US payroll
* Washington State payroll and tax familiarity (major plus): WA PFML, WA Cares, L&I workers’ comp, ESD, local taxes as applicable
* Experience supporting multiple bookkeeping clients (agency/firm environment)
Training Expectation
You must be willing to be trained through webinars and self-study to learn Washington State-specific payroll and filing requirements, and to follow our internal SOPs/checklists.
