About Digital Drive

We're a web design and digital marketing agency based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, specialising in service-based businesses across construction, engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, and tourism.

We don't build websites that just look professional. We build websites that generate enquiries and grow businesses.
After 10 years, we've developed a proven design system and process that delivers results. Now we're looking for a senior designer to own the design process and help us scale.

Our approach:
• Conversion before aesthetics - beautiful design that doesn't convert is worthless
• Service business specialists - we understand what works for service businesses
• Systematic design - we build reusable templates, not one-off solutions
• Developer empathy - we design with buildability in mind from the start

The Role
We're looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer who understands that design exists to generate enquiries, not win awards. Someone who thinks systematically, designs with conversion in mind, and creates Figma files that developers actually want to work with.

You'll be:
• Designing conversion-focused websites for service business clients (construction companies, manufacturing and engineering companies, healthcare providers, professional services, tourism operators)
• Using our 50+ template boilerplate as foundation, combining existing templates with new custom designs for each project
• Creating 2-3 new reusable templates weekly to expand our design system
• Preparing developer-ready Figma files with clean structure, clear labels, responsive designs, and complete design systems
• Conducting design QA on developed websites to ensure pixel-perfect implementation
• Collaborating with Jack (founder) on strategy and client context, and with developers on seamless handoff

What We're Looking For

You're the right fit if you:
? Design for conversion, not just aesthetics - you understand landing page best practices, strategic CTA placement, trust-building elements, and user flows that guide visitors toward enquiries
? Know service businesses - you've designed for construction companies, healthcare providers, professional services, or similar industries. You understand these businesses need credibility, clear service descriptions, and strong calls-to-action
? Think in systems - you create design libraries with reusable components, maintain consistent spacing and typography, and build patterns that scale rather than one-off solutions
? Design for developers - you use consistent spacing, think in columns and rows, understand Elementor's capabilities, and create clean Figma files that make developers' lives easier
? Create wireframes and user flows - you map out information architecture and user journeys before jumping into visual design, ensuring every page serves a strategic purpose
? Prioritize accessibility - you design with WCAG guidelines in mind, ensuring sufficient contrast, readable typography, logical hierarchy, and consideration for all users
? Communicate proactively - you provide clear updates, flag issues early, and explain design decisions confidently without being defensive about feedback

Required skills:
• 6+ years of UI/UX design experience
• Expert-level Figma proficiency with design systems experience
• Portfolio showing service business websites
• Demonstrable CRO knowledge and conversion-focused design approach
• Wireframing and user flow expertise
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles

What Success Looks Like

In your first 3 months, you'll:
• Achieve 90%+ first-time approval rate from Jack on designs
• Deliver Figma files that developers rate 4+/5 for clarity and buildability
• Reduce Jack's design refinement time to under 1 hour per project
• Add 24-36 high-quality templates to our design system
• Meet all design deadlines consistently
• Build strong working relationships with Jack and the development team

After 3 months, we evaluate full-time employment based on quality, communication, and business workload. If everything's going well, full-time could happen sooner.
