Experienced Ecommerce Product Researcher & Sourcing Specialist (US Market)

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Virtual Assistant to join our ecommerce team. We are not looking for a beginner. We need a true specialist who understands the entire lifecycle of a product, from spotting an emerging trend in the US market to negotiating the best possible terms with suppliers and managing the logistics of getting that product to our warehouses.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, has a sharp eye for "winning products," and possesses aggressive but professional negotiation skills. You must be comfortable communicating with suppliers in China (or other regions) and have a deep understanding of margins, shipping logistics, and sales volume forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify high-potential, trending products for the US market before they become saturated. You should be proficient in using tools like Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Google Trends, or similar software to validate demand and competition.
Supplier Sourcing & Negotiation: This is a critical part of the role. You will identify reliable suppliers (via Alibaba, 1688, or direct agents) and negotiate pricing, MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities), and payment terms. You must be able to secure the best possible cost of goods sold (COGS) to maximize our profit margins.
Trend Spotting: Proactively monitor social media (TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest) and market data to spot emerging trends and seasonal opportunities relevant to American consumers.
Logistics & Shipment Planning: Manage the supply chain process. You will coordinate with freight forwarders, calculate landed costs (shipping, duties, taxes), and ensure inventory arrives on time.
Sales Volume Planning: Analyze sales data and competitor performance to forecast inventory needs and plan purchase volumes accurately to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Quality Control: Organize sample inspections and ensure products meet our quality standards before mass production begins.

Requirements:

Proven Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Ecommerce Product Research and Sourcing specifically for the US market (Amazon FBA, Shopify, or dropshipping with private label focus).
Negotiation Expert: You must provide examples of how you have successfully negotiated lower prices or better terms with suppliers in the past. We need someone confident and persistent.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to read data, calculate profit margins, ROI, and landed costs accurately. You must be proficient in Excel/Google Sheets.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English is required for communicating with our team and negotiating with international suppliers.
Tool Proficiency: Experience with product research software (e.g., Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Keepa) and project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Slack).
Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of Incoterms (EXW, FOB, DDP), shipping methods (Air vs. Sea), and customs procedures.
