The Accountant is responsible for managing payroll, company and personal tax compliance, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on Philippine and Australian taxation. This role will oversee the financial and statutory requirements of the company’s Philippine entity while ensuring compliance with both local and international tax obligations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly knowledgeable in cross-border tax matters, and capable of working independently.
What You Do:
Accounting & Financial Management
-Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Philippine entity
-Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
-Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Payroll Management
-Process payroll accurately and on time
-Manage statutory contributions and deductions (e.g., SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, PAYG where applicable)
-Prepare payroll reports and resolve payroll-related inquiries
-Ensure compliance with local labor and payroll regulations
Tax Compliance & Reporting
-Prepare, file, and manage company tax obligations in the Philippines and Australia
-Handle personal tax filings for company principals, as required
-Ensure timely filing and payment of income tax, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and other statutory taxes
-Liaise with tax authorities (BIR, ATO) and external auditors or tax advisors
-Stay up to date with changes in Philippine and Australian tax laws and regulations
Entity & Regulatory Management
-Manage statutory compliance for the Philippine entity, including registrations, renewals, and filings
-Coordinate with local regulators and external service providers as needed
-Support audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews
-Maintain compliance calendars and documentation
Who You Are
-Bachelor’s degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
-5+ years of accounting experience, including payroll and tax compliance
-Strong experience with Xero
-Strong working knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations
-Familiarity with Australian taxation (income tax, GST, PAYG, BAS)
-Experience managing or supporting a Philippine corporate entity
-Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems
-Experience with cross-border or multinational companies (preferred)
-Experience handling personal tax filings in addition to corporate tax (preferred)
