Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors in the preparation and development of Bills of Quantities for carpentry and steel construction projects.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of project scopes, including but not limited to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
• Ensure Bills of Quantities fully encompass all scopes, identifying and addressing any gaps, overlaps, or omissions.
• Analyze and verify rates, labor hours, material costs, and overall estimates to confirm they are reasonable, competitive, and aligned with industry benchmarks.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, manage scope changes, and optimize cost controls.
• Utilize tools like Autodesk Takeoff for efficient quantity takeoffs and BoQ management.
• Prepare reports on scope validations, BoQ updates, and cost analyses to support project decision-making.
• Prepare tender queries to Architects and Engineers, including assumption lists.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in project controls, quantity surveying, or a similar role within the construction industry, with a strong emphasis on scope management and BoQ preparation.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding teams of QS or related professionals.
• Proficiency in project management software, including Microsoft Excel, Primavera, or equivalent.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle complex projects under deadlines.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Tagalog) is beneficial.
Advantages:
• Prior experience on New Zealand-based projects, including familiarity with NZ Building Code, seismic requirements, and sustainable construction practices.
• Expertise in Autodesk Takeoff or similar digital takeoff software for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
• Understanding of carpentry and steel fabrication processes in a contracting environment.

What We Offer:
• Opportunities for professional growth, including training on NZ-specific standards and tools.
• A supportive, collaborative work environment with exposure to international projects.
• Flexible working arrangements to balance work and life.
